It's a 53 ash framed body and 1250cc xpag engine. Ladder chassis and twin SU, s. I had a few morris minors, one with a rag top. When I was 17, I changed a morris minor big end bearings on roadway outside our house one Christmas morning in a foot of snow!!! They were happy days

Ah, a 1953 MG TD....the last year for the TD. In 1954 they went to the TF body and frame.
But, hey....what do I know....I'm part Scottish,Β not Irish.Β

I can send photos of the TD if you are on wattsapΒ

No no not whatsapp.Β
We all want to see the pics.
Mind I just had a lovely video chat with my adopted Cambodian family this morning on Whatsapp.
Most excellent way to start the day.

Yes until you need to stop in a hurry 😂, lovely car

In the "truth is stranger than fiction" category;Β My brother had a '57 MG.Β When he sold it the buyer (who knew absolutely nothing about classic cars) wanted it because MG matched his wife's initials.Β Β My brother and I were thinking it would end up as a flower pot in the yard.Β 🙄Β
Hold my keyboard and watch this! π

SU carbs and Lucas Electrics will do that to a fellow.

Yes, they didn't call poor Joey Lucas "the prince of darkness" for no reason. He invented the original anti-theft device. I kinda have a soft spot for the SU's though. They remind me of me, simple!Β

I'm still trying to figure out how to get get this chair attached. I've ruled out velro, super glue, jubilee clips, and the missus clinging onto the bike for dear life as we go along.
I always new my degree in mechanical engineering was a bloody waste of time

Joe, what these other wankers don't know....that you and I both do know...is that old SU carbs can easily be rebuilt, preferably with new bronze or brass throttle shaft bushings.
And, my new friend Joe, I had to laugh at your ingenious way of getting your Mitsubishi Evolution all the way up in the air, on your lift.
I also have a 9,000 lb asymmetrical armΒ car lift in my shop, and use it to lift all my sidecar rigs, and the 2 wheeled motorcycles.
But....no slowΒ Mitsubishi Evolution for me....I am on my 13th Subaru.Β Two at home in the US,Β and one here in Europe right now.Β

The older Suburu's are selling for huge money over here. Yeah I bent a few car roofs before my son chopped a hole in the ceiling. He has put a lock over the up button and has hidden the key from me. He has a Honda cbr fireblade in immaculate condition. Everytime he isn't around, I put a few drops of oil on the floor under it's engine. He spends hours trying to find the leak 😁. I'll teach him to hide keys on me!Β

Old age and treachery will overcome youth and enthusiasm every time. Β
