Pretty Cool Custom Royal Enfield/Velorex Build
After climbing out from under my rock I snagged some free internet and watched this YouTube video. Apologies in advance if this has already been discussed, but thought it cool enough to share. Royal Enfield has a builders competition going on with folks turning out some very cool builds.
I didn't know Velorex was made in Czechoslovakia.
Okay, that's as much excitement as one year should provide. I'm sliding back under the rock now...
Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃
That would be a well balanced rig to ride.
A fairly simple bike with a light sidecar.
Built more as a show with chopped mudguards which I understand.
But also having already a bobber I find annoying to live with for that reason.
I would like to see them build for practicality foremost with show rigs as just that.
But also if Velorex could land a complete Enfield compatable sidecar here in Australia.
I would go lookie see for sure.
And the Enfield people might like as well.
Steering mods?
I keep hearing motorcycles being referred to as " a build " What exactly is that supposed to mean ? The reason I ask is that I see nothing new being built, all I see is a bike being tarted up to appeal to kids that is fitted with a Velorex sidecar.
BTW I think Velorex make great solidly built sidecars, I just bought one.
A "build" is in the context of putting a sidecar onto a motorcycle .
Now that takes varying amounts of building.
Take for example an old English motorcycle as probably the simplest way to join a sidecar to a motorcycle.
A lot of old bikes had lugs on the frames to suit the sidecars of the period.
Just bolt together and adjust then ride.
Not really a build.
My Vstrom some years ago needed considerable fabrication of subframes, triple trees etc to make it into a decent sidecar outfit.
I also built the sidecar from bits and pieces.
Some adapted and some modified.
So that's closer to a full build.

This " Build" follows the current trend of chopping various parts off a perfectly good motorcycle and hailing it as a wonderful creation. In this case they also installed an off the shelf sidecar with the majority of it's fender missing to make it look even more wonderful. Nobody built anything, it's a joke
