Purchased a sidecar for my 97 FLHP, it's on the way. Not certain but I think the sidecar is a 93. Probably be here for the weekend. 😎

Looks pristine.  Like a blank canvas.  No funky stuff mounted, and nicely kept.

Look forward to pictures when you get it.  Will be a fun winter project for sure! 😎

Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

@mick-boon

5k. 1 bracket missing to complete attachment. I remember giving $1500 about 10 years ago for the current hack on my 69...

I would have expected that or more for a decent sidecar like that, sidecars are not cheap, they often cost more than the bike.

Yes will give me something to do this winter! I've now got the factory service manual that describes attachment and adjustment for my ride. My bike's parts catalog also diagrams and labels all the sidecar parts in exploded fashion. (Harley's documentation was top notch in my opinion) I'll Go through everything when it gets here and put together a list of part numbers that are missing. Local Harley Stealership will probably have all the fasteners. It definitely photographs best from this angle, as the rear of the fender is banged up. Oh well...  It does match my bike though. 😀

If you have the correct fittings it will not take long to install it, a weekend at most.

PS, The tub looks like it sits very high. I have noticed that with Harley rigs before, seems to be a Harley thing.

Sidecar arrives tonight! All of the brackets required are supposed to be included, except for one that was special and produced for only two years, 1997 and 1998. Difficult booger to find!

Stock HD sidecar, and shouldn't sit any different to the one attached to my 69. I am wondering however, if I will need to raise my bike back up. It currently sits 1" lower than stock. This is the customization I alluded to earlier. I think I'll see if bracket adjustments allow for it. before I go to effort to return bike to stock height.

I just read that in 94, Harley replaced the leaf spring packs with single blades. Supposedly outperforms old assemblies and lowered the ride height a bit. This sidecar actually appears to be a conglomerate of parts, definitely NOT a 94… I’m underwhelmed. 😕

I’m disassembling and inspecting.

I didn't want to LIKE your post above, considering what you found, but I do LIKE that you are a good thinker.

Trudge forward, and remember an old Scottish sayin'.......Musn't Grumble

Now, to make Lemonade out of this Lemon, did you say a few posts ago that your bike sits lower than normal...and you were concerned that the standard  H-D sidecar sits higher than most, so you were thinking about possibly raising your bike back up.

Yet, now you find that the sidecar you have received sits lower than you expected.

See.....we made Lemonade out of this Lemon.

Drink up everybody friday

Thanks. I wish I could agree with you about the "thinker" part! I ignored the signs, and didn't ask for enough pictures...

But yes, will move forward. Getting too far on to learn much from my own lessons, but I hope I can pass a little wisdom down the line.

Looking for an optimal outcome here.

Some judicial mix and match along with the odd trade and modification.

Well hoping you can work it out anyway.

I find buying stuff online almost as bad as gambling.

Something I never had the stomach for.

Internet.

Enlarges your expectations but not the wisdom to use it.
