If your soft tail is all stock a depending on the gearing that year you might be in for a surprise.

Mine dyno is used to see what works and what don't for my own R&D. It not use to impress no one, that I leave that up to the other guys. I did one...
It's a piece of very expensive equpment use for tuning the bike to get the most out of it as far as HP and Torque and efficient cruising down the road...
I have the same XR. I think I put more miles on it on the Dyno then on the road. It's sure is a fun bike to ride.

If that valve seat fell out or is loose it would keep that valve stem lowered. As far as the valve seat being damage that far to let that valve sit hi...
Would be no different than riding one of big wide rear tires with rake out front ends choppers. You just have to respect it and knows it going to hand...
How about if you are tenting and need electric, do you need to reserve?
