LIFT chair for inside the sidecar

On a serious note, does anyone here have any info on a LIFT chair, for mounting inside the sidecar ?
A chair/seat that with the push of a button can LIFT the passenger UP, making it easier to get their feet under them, and easier to exit the sidecar.
To be frank and forthright, some of these sidecars are a M%&%^$F%&^&%$ to get seated into, or to get up and out of the seat.
I can not understand how a modern day sidecar manufacturer can build a sidecar/seat so that only a 13 year old gymnast has the physical abilities to sit down into, and extricate themselves from the sidecar seat.
If anyone knows of a lifting seat, like those used for disabled people, that works in a sidecar, please let me know.

Gymnast has to be at least 18 in most states.
On the Hoosegow forum someone has done this. Chair rose up on rails. I can't remember the title of the thread, and if he used a standard chair on vertical rails (scissor frame?) with a linear drive(s), or if the seat itself was special.
Another great idea was the gentlemen who cut the nose off his Ural, and hinged it. The whole nose swings open and the seat is right there. If someone can take a couple of steps backwards, they can then squat into the seat. Thought that was really cool.

Am considering this: https://www.liftmychair.com/
EnhanSit....it's a 3" high mechanism that can raise and tilt a standard recliner, or chair seat (think sidecar seat).
It is certainly NOT cheap, or inexpensive, as they want well over $ 600,00 for it, including delivery.
But, that may be the price that needs to be paid, to make life easier for my Monkey Boss.

the old watsonians had that problem, with their huge windshields . they had a hinged cockpit lid from the factory, as well as a cutout in the side so you could kind of roll out and fall on the ground.
my 68 monaco has both, but the cutout is worthless because its on the left-- the british side-- rather than the right where an american would fumble their way out of the chair.
homemade options are available

Just saw this video. Looks like a similar setup to what you are considering, but without tilt. No info on how it was done.
It does show very limited room in the up position.
Better video if you go to about minute 2:40 you'll see it function.
And now the rest of the story... (aka the real reason this Royal Chariot has a seat lift).

I posted this ad a while back. Maybe talk to Hannigan and see if this is something they did or the owner did later.
Here's the forum post. CL ad link is dead.

Middle picture in Drew's post sure looks similar to the setup in the Yellow Chariot of Joy. Hope it is an option you can just purchase. 👍

Here's one that runs off a 14.8 volt battery. Around $600.

They also make a lighter duty one for under $400.

Reviews on Amazon. Apparently takes about 2 minutes to go all the way up. But since it's battery powered I wouldn't expect the motor to be fast.
I'm wondering if it runs on 14.8V DC power, if it can be powered by the bike?
Kind of silly video to go with --->
But you get the idea. Would take some futzing to make it work in the sidecar.

A I started to type a square plate but immediately corrected myself.
A round plate fixed to the foor.
And another fixed above to the seat.
With a small explosive charge fitted between.
Oh!
I can hear it now....
Bang!
Your fired....
OK second attempt..
The scissor lift mechanism from a bike lift or similar.
And an airbag operated by a suitable compressor.
Expelled air can be discharged through a suitable trumpet to tuned to make royal carriage sounds.
Er or through a set of pipes.....
Bagged of course.....
My Watsonian is a challenge for the bride to get in and out of and she is smaller and reasonably nimble still.
Thinking about the non functioning chair lifts that came with our 2 story house.
They have various sensors to prevent I assume overload and or injury.
Powered things require a healthy respect to be able to retain things like digits and limbs in a fully functioning state.
At a car and bike show yesterday.

double scissor lifts for example as the ones used for to jack up motocross bikes. So when you got a flip nose on your tub (like my first MZ superelastic had) and a individual car sear, then you could fit the jack under the seat and crank it up with a electric motor or battery drill.
Just a thought.

let's have a try, if I am able to post the photo

Thank you all. I have things under control now (ha ha ha ha ha) (said in an evil tone)
I called Hannigan Sidecars this morning, discussed their electric lift chair. Wish I had known about this 4 months ago, before I picked this rig up from Hannigan's, as I would have had them swap out the existing chair for the electric lift chair.
At this point I have a different remedy in place, and will see IF it works. If not, then have Hannigan's ship me the $ 1,300 electric lift chair, that will probably cost me a wheelbarrow load of quarters to ship from Kentucky to Washington, but.....what the hay !!!!!
Time is getting short, as I am scheduled to ship this entire sidecar rig in early January...Washington State to Florida, then in mid February...Florida to Heidelberg, Germany.
Everything else is 100 % complete and ready, just need to make it easier to get into and out of the sidecar seat.

One thing to keep in mind, at least as I recall "seeing," is the lift apparatus under the Hannigan lift chair raises the static seat height, perhaps enough for a passenger to rub his/her head on the hard-top, if so equipped.

Dann wünsche ich viel Spaß auf beiden Seiten des großen Spuknapfes.. Then I wish you a lot of fun on both sides of the big spit pot.
Be careful when you ride those beautiful roads up into the Odenwald and Black forest. Each year quite a few youngsters find themselves as a radiator grill on those gorgeous bends. You will find more rig meetings only in South Germany then on this whole continent. Check for the forum at www.dreiradler.org/
Best wishes.

We have the Hannigan lift in the sidecar of the Honda. The former owner had it installed for his wife who had MS. I'm 5'10", and with the height of the bracket for the lift seat, it's a bit close to the windshield. Hubby moved the entire contraption back 4", so you have to be careful when raising the seat that it doesn't hit the back of the hack. It does make it really easy to get out of the Hannigan bucket! I never ride with the hard top on. My head would hit with a helmet on.
