@rick-johnson registrations currently @ 125 and rising. Expecting more as the May-June issue of the Sidecarist starts hitting the mailboxes.

Posted by: @tomjgerken@jan-2 History? Fort Popham just a stones throw from rally central is one of America's early settlements. Several museums in the area regarding Maine's rich maritime history and more. The Peary-Mcmillan Museum at Bowdoin College in Brunswick documents the north pole expedition, Joshua Chamberlain Museum is also in Brunswick if there are any civil war buffs in the group. The Maine Maritime Museum in Bath documents the maritime and shipbuilding history of the region for centuries, Rockland houses the Owls Head Transportation Museum, Maine Lighthouse Museum and one I have not been to but was recently featured on a loal TV channel, the Sail Power and Steam Museum. Prefer to spend your time just riding instead of riding to and from? There are several beautiful country roads just slightly inland or take a full day ride to the mountains or lakes regions, spend a little extra time to go Down East and explore Acadia National Park and beyond. Each local coastal peninsula offers it's own little surprise around every bend; lighthouses, lobster shacks, quaint fishing villages and more. For those who have not registered what are you waiting for??
Wait a minute there Tom....you forgot to mention that there is an old plastic sign laying on the ground in a former Air Force base housing, near Limestone, Maine, that mentions that Flying Monkeys was born on that site, in 1954.

Thanks. I can’t wait to meet this crew. Sounds like a great turnout.

The Long and Lonely Road.....
On a serious note, if anyone going to the USCA National Sidecar Rally in Topsham, Maine will be traveling along the northern states, and wants to meet up to caravan along the way, let me know.
Since my Boss Monkey is staying home, my 3,300 miles journey to Maine will be a...Long and Lonely Road.

We’re leaving Wednesday from Philly suburbs. Looping west through NE PA to miss Jersey turnpike and NYC.
Now I feel bad that I thought two 4 hour days was going to be long ride. Been a while since I made any road trips.
Half way is Hartford CT for first night hotel. Then another easy day into Topsham.
With all roads funneling up the coast I imagine will have plenty others with us by the time we get past Boston.

@rick-johnson cue C-S-N: “by the time we got to Topsham, we were half a million strong…”

Suddenly have a lot of musical accompaniments to posts. Cue Paul McCartney: “the long and winding road that leads to your door, will never disappear…”

@miles-ladue Loring is an overnight trip from Topsham. They have a small museum there and of course the big thing up there is the Loring Timing Association speed trial events, kind of the Bonneville Salt flats of the East. I dont know the latest but I recall one of the sidecar speed records there some years ago was just over 200 mph. I believe the fastest 2 wheel riding 2 up run was around 186 mph. I've never been, but a few of our BMW club members attend every year.

Don't know whether to start a new thread, or add into this thread, but I wanted to get the attention of ALL those sidecarists that will be attending the 2025 USCA National Sidecar Rally next month in Maine, to ask....what do you have in your garage, or shop, or basement that you could bring to the rally, and either offer up as a trade item, to sell, or just give away to other sidecarists ?
Example: A couple years ago I ordered two of these extra wide wheel chocks, for mounting on my BearTrack trailer, so that I could line up exactly where I wanted my sidecar rig to be, hold it in place, and use a second one for our two wheeled motorcycles.
I ordered the widest ones they had available....and I found out today, that even it is not wide enough for the PHAT front tire on my BattleWing Galactica.
Ergo, and therefore, I will be bringing both of these extra wide wheel chocks to the rally next month, and offering them up to someone, if you have a need.
You can see what they cost me, and I will sell both of them for a total of $ 50.00, or....$ 25.00 each. That is far less than half price.
The ad says they are wide enough for up to an 8" tire...and I say...bull pucky.
Yes, the front tire on my BattleWing Galactica is that PHAT.....a 180/60-16 tire.
I may have some other things I will bring, because if I am not using the items, I might as well share.

Well, my furry navigator is recovering from ear surgery and the doctor advised me to not take him in the hack for at least six weeks to let things heal completely. Looks like we're going to miss the rally practically in our own backyard. Bummer!

Glenfiddich @glenfiddich, in a recent poll it was shown that 31.4159 percent of the people attending the Sidecar Rally this year were coming to meet YOU. If you don't show up, there will be mayhem on the streets of Topsham and Brunswick.
Don't allow this to happen.
Be there, as it will be another 6 or 7 years before the National Sidecar Rally is back in the New England area.

@FlyingMonkeys - LOL! Don't lie, they were coming to meet my dog!
My understanding is the deadline for registration is May 20th. His sutures won't come out till the first week in June and till that happens I can't get a good feeling for what the surgeon might recommend. He refuses to stay behind the windshield, riding along with his face getting the full force of the wind right next to my knee. And of course that means major ear flapping as he refuses to wear EarPros.
If the deadline could be pushed back due to his medical issue we might have a chance of making it.
