We had a train, or chain of 10 rigs rolling along from the campgrounds to a local Chainsaw artist show, so we could peruse the work of more than 20 chainsaw artists, and buy, or not.
Okay, it was 8 sidecar rigs, plus 2 trikes.
Then another sidecar rig met us there.
Back at the campgrounds, it looks like we have 16 sidecar rigs so far, plus 3 trikes, and a couple car loads of sidecar "owners" that chose to drive, rather than rig it
More than double the participation of last year, and....they keep coming....so it may triple the participation of last year.
This last picture is of Stella, da lady dawg, sitting in HER California Friendship ll.... that I named....The Sidecar Named Desire.
(only olde movie buffs will get that)

Of course, it's a rule that any gathering of sidecars where you have 3 more sidecar rigs....you HAVE to go out for Ice Cream.
So it is written, so it shall be done 👍
Therefore..
A few more pictures, then (gulp) an olde man's attempt at posting a couple videos.
I will apologize in advance 😞
See, I have reason to apologize, my 2nd video of all the other Sidecar rigs pulling into the ice cream shop parking lot is too large of a video to be posted.
I may have to send this 2nd video to Thane, a younger and more technology advanced human being.

I do wish I could have joined y’all. Alas I was traveling to Nashville last week and couldn’t justify more time away. Party on, Garth!

MJ,
Thanks for a great weekend. Heading back east early to beat the storms coming.
Hope to see everyone again before next year.

Rick, you Texas Bulldogger, you....it was great seeing you again, and your really nice 1983 Honda Goldwing w/Vetter Terraplane sidecar.
MJ @mj, thank YOU and John for being such great hosts of the PenNy Hackers Campout. You did a really good job.
A picture from our morning breakfast ride.
A few shots of the most badass Sidecar rig to show up, piloted by probably the oldest Sidecar pilot.

Hi, everyone
How's the weather there now? When I left it had started drizzling with snow flakes mixed in!!!
We have a Ms. Roper festival in Phoenixville this weekend. Stopped by downtown just a few minutes ago. There were a dozen red wigs on the sidewalk but could only get these two to come over. Then the guy I handed my phone to cut me out!!
Miles, Switched to regular gas for the drive home. 620 miles total round trip. Hitting it pretty hard to get home was running 70-75 mph freeway all day. Didn't notice any power performance difference, but did save $15 dollars with the cheaper gas. I've heard all the chatter about regular vs high test. Including regular is better because the tanks are filled more often. Much like which oil do you use. It never was a problem with paying 30 cents more, but with today's prices will keep running the regular.
Ride safe everyone.
@rick-johnson Love your rig! So happy to meet you and enjoyed the campfire time! We were looking for you this morning so you could test drive our rig. Hopefully, we can meet at another time.
@miles-ladue we need a LOVE button for this rig! Thanks for the kind words. You made the gathering a Stroopwafel heaven

Chris, I will just say that whilst my wife and I were there...NO rain, except for the thundering fall of acorns from the trees onto picnic tables, tents, and RVs. We brought the dry weather with us.
Apparently before we showed up, it rain really hard , and....after we left...it rained lightly.
See, I bring more than just Stroopwaffles.

MJ did another great job, Had a great, relaxing time. Got caught up with people I haven't seen for years and met new ones. One not that far away from me. Hit some rain going there and clear sailing heading home. Average gas mileage down and back 39.5 average highway speed was 65-75. Fuel cost came out to .15 cents a mile.
@not-bob Well, it rained at night and the bugs were annoying. However, temps were in the 70's and the area is lovely! As @miles-ladue said, the acorns sounded like cannon balls falling on the roof of our camper, and the tin roof on the building 🙂 Hope you can join us next year!

Yes, you do! That's an understatement 🙂 Thanks so much for the info on fuel and tire pressure and helping out with the ice cream ride! John couldn't wait to show you the improvements he made after your suggestions in Maine. Really appreciate you and Buffi traveling cross-country to hang out and ride with us
