The East Texas Spring Muster for sidecar enthusiasts and friends is scheduled for April 17-19, 2026, in Nacogdoches, Texas. clap

Plans include a Saturday morning visit to the Azalea Gardens at Stephen F. Austin University, with an introduction from the Director of the Gardens, Dave Creech, who, back in the '70's owned a raked Triumph 650 easy rider machine of epic beauty...until he wrecked it near Madisonville, and a visit to the nearby Millard's Crossing Historic Village.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to locate our customary lodging with rv spots/cabins in one location, so we'll have to "motel it" this time.

Primary lodging and rally central is at the Days Inn at 2724 North Street (Business 59) in Nacogdoches:  936-585-8189; and

Alternative lodging is next door at the Continental Inn at 2728 North Street: 936-585-8189.

The nearest RV Park is Western Pines 3.5 miles Northwest at 5001 NW Stallings Drive (59 By-Pass):  936-585-8189.

There are numerous restaurants within 5 blocks of the motels, so, although we'll have to forego a dinner-on-the-grounds, we should have sufficient options for fellowship meals.  Should we prefer a group ride out in the country, we might be able to incorporate a ride to one of my favorite restaurants, the Alexander Burger Company 20 miles Northwest in Cushing.

We'll post a more detailed schedule as the times are confirmed, perhaps incorporating Friday lunch meet-ups on our journey to Nacogdoches.

P.S. for James S:  SFA has home baseball games scheduled for that weekend!

The AccuWeather forecast is favorable for the Muster, with minimal chances of rain on Fri/Sat April 17th/18th, with Lows in the 60°F's & unseasonably warm Highs in the mid 80°F's; however, there is a 50% chance of ...a thunderstorm on the prowl... Sunday morning.

The proposed schedule:

Friday:

±4:00 PM   Arrive

6:00 PM:    Group ride to Appleby Sands Mercantile Cafe for supper - the Bradford's are opening up the buffet "special" partly upon our request.

We'll have a riders' meeting to discuss options for Saturday afternoon.

Saturday:

±8:00 AM:  Breakfast on your own - several options in the local area.

9:15 AM:     Group ride to the SFA Gardens

After the Gardens TBD - options include visiting the Millard's Crossing Historic Village and/or ±60 mile round trip country ride to lunch.

6:00 PM:      Group ride to Supper TBD
