Thanks for doing the maps for us.
Wouldn't have a clue otherwise
Looks an amazing achievement.
Of course now Jan will wrap it up in no time.
Best let the missus know to get the champagne in the ice bucket.

Not including the trip from Houston to Alaska... This adventure is deserving of a Titanium Butt Award. 🍻

The Octogenarian and Red Dog are now in Trinidad, Colorado, and after today he will start what is referred to as Night riding....starting about 3 am every morning, to avoid the excessive heat, and traffic.

The last couple of photos taken in Canada and all of those take in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado are coming out very fuzzy, out of focus. I wonder if all the vibration of the Haul Road and since has affected the camera on my iPhone. I installed the vibration model QuadLok before starting this trip just to prevent that as had read their earlier model did have an issue with vibrations damaging the camera focus.
The up close photos of receipts and odometer are sharp, but the landscape photos are not like they were earlier in the trip.
Will carefully try a few photos tomorrow to test the focus.
As for now, rain is still flollowing me, crossed into Montana at Sweet Grass, two days ago. After a wet night in Great Falls, rolled south passing through Billings to reach Casper, Wyoming. Why this route? Have been watching that heat dome in the mid-west. Decided to ride south along the eastern slope of the Rockies where it is a cooler, then turn east somewhere in Mid-state New Mexico, Clovis, maybe???, then angling down to go along the Gulf coast. It is hotter in Dallas than in Houston.
That's the plan, but maps and weather reports are studied nightly to make adjustments as warranted.
Am on schedule with an anticipated arrival in Key West with days to spare.

Octogenarian & Red Dog, it is a good thing that your photos are coming our fuzzy, because....between Trinidad and Raton, New Mexico is a stretch of road where you can officially join the NANMRA...that is the North America NAKED Motorcycle Riders Association.
To do this, you are allowed to wear a helmet, and boots, but nothing else, and you do need to provide a photo of said ride, so good thing it will be fuzzy.
And, at you current rate of travel, you will arrive in Key West with MORE than week to spare...almost 2 weeks to spare.
Oh...you do NOT need to share that photo of you joining the NANMRA with us folks here...this is a family sidecar association.

Posted by: @2FLTCI like to know who taking the worst beating on this trip Jan or Red Dog. It looks like it's 50 50.
The answer to your question is that Red Dog is taking more of a beating than the operator.
He is in Lamesa, Texas for tonight, and will be at his home outside of the Houston area tomorrow, to do a bit of work on Red Dog, such as....all new brake pads.... everywhere. Still has a lot of time available to get to Key West....so that will be no problem.

Definitely one of the iPhone camera lenses has come loose. Bought that iPhone back in February. Will check warranty paperwork when I get home.

Now that the Octogenarian & Red Dog are home for a couple days, for R & R....he still has at least 15 days left on the riding clock to make it that paltry 1400 miles from his home to Key West, Florida. Meaning, he is well ahead of the clock, and no need to hurry. Take the time to breathe....recharge his batteries, and the batteries on Red Dog, do a little maintenance on both him and Red Dog, then find the perfect weather window to do a 3 to 4 days ride, sit in Key West for a day or three, then a 3 to 4 days ride back home.
You are doing well, CCjon, @jan-2.
Once you have completed this ride we can call you....UCCjon, for being the Elder Statesman to complete the UCC, or Ultimate Coast to Coast.

Hmmm... maybe not a loose lens. Mama Geek suggested turning the iPhone off and restart it.
Did it, tried a few close up photos, they look okay. In the morning will try a few landscape shots.
