WHY NO LIKES?

Why don't you guys hit the LIKE button?
I get it that many of you don't have anything to add to a thread, but at least you could give the other guys a little encouragement. A little attaboy. A little thanks. How? Click the LIKE button!
Sometimes it feels like there's only 15 or 20 people using this entire forum.
There's a recent thread on here about EZEE Steer trees. Five people posted on the thread. Two other people left "LIKES". But the thread has 335 views! Which means lots of ghosts are reading the thread but not reacting.
It's pretty easy to click "LIKE." Just do it!
Another example -- MGV8 did a thread recently with over 40 photos of back country places in Oregon. And a video! Really fabulous stuff. 97 views, but only 8 people left "LIKES". Not very encouraging.
I'm not asking you to start a new thread, or write a reply, I'm just asking you to acknowledge the contribution of people who are providing knowledge and opinions and fun stuff to the forum.
It's not hard. Just click "LIKE."
Not sure how to do it? It's that little "thumbs up" symbol at the bottom left corner of every post. Click it. Click it every time you read a post that you agree with, or that has provided you with useful info, or that's just been entertaining.
Thanks!

Well, ya olde wanker....I hit the LIKE (thumbs up icon) on 99.314159 % of the posts on these forums that I read.
However, I do agree with your complaint/issue.

Hmm haven't liked anything for a few days.
Got logged out and took a while to work out how to log back in.
But yes perhaps the website should record in your profile how many likes have been given as well as received.
The ratio should be in the order of 3.1416 to one according to the pyeometer.
Extra donut holes for the most given.
Special bird finger for the miserable coots.

Nope, not going to do it. You can't make me... You can't make me. 🤣
When the new version of this site came on line, the old likes did not follow over. So if you are looking at threads posted before the new site took effect, those old posts won't show the original "likes". I've caught myself clicking "Like" only to realize the post is a year old. lol So that may be part of what you are seeing.
I like the way Jerry re-set the like button based on Mile's input. Much easier to use now on portable devices, like a phone. Miles pointed out how the old version was easy to click the wrong button.
Side note: I was probably the other 89 views on MGV8's thread. Those pictures are drool worthy, of an epic part of the country. Had to go back a few times with a pine scented air freshener to really get the full goodness.
Side note: Pine scented air fresheners are good for a lot more than a single view. 😉

Keeping a digital score is weird.
God is watching.

Bruce, given that you are in the downunder, things are inverted down there.
So, your 4/10 rating is actually a 10/4 rating, which means....you rule !

Yes Miles the perspective is different .
Likes to liked the ratio is 3.36 to 1.
Slightly over pye but close in round figures.
No idea what 4/10 means .
10/4 is 2 way speak.

10-4 good buddy.
Ironically, over on that "other" hacks site, where I have been perma-banned, my Likes to Posts ratio was over 600 %. All it takes is one wanker to ruin your life, and you get perma-banned, which is different than permafrost, which may explain why I prefer to ride in the colder weather vs the hotter weather.

Twas 42 degress f this morning for my ride to work. Yes, yes, some of us are actually young enough that we still have to do that sort of thing ( )
For those in the SI time zone, that would be 5.5c. Heated grips are a joyous thing to behold and to hold.
