Makes sense. Any recommendations on an oil cooler and a mounting location?

Too much rain yesterday to move vehicles around and open up a work space, wife’s birthday today and Mother’s Day tomorrow so no work for a few days.

Harley the way to go 26157-07A is the one it calls for but it's center mounted. 26157-11A says it fits 2011 and later but should fit yours and it's side mounted which will give you better cooling.

thank you for the information, including the part number.  Looked it up online and was referred to parts catalog for fitment.  I have two parts catalogs, one states side mount will fit my bike and the other states it won’t.  I’ll do some more digging.

Tub is looking great!  The headlamp/running/turn signal setup looks pretty darned sporty too.  🤩 I like how it fits the sidecar profile, while sitting up high.  Gives me an idea for the Spyder.

Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

Thanks finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!  Here are a couple close ups of the light if you choose to go that route.

Had some time and decent weather today.  Took advantage of both and mounted the sidecar with help from my wife.  Still have to Lots to do but the list is getting shorter.

Thanks for the closeup of the light mounting.  Definitely helpful.  👍

Your mount setup looks super clean.  You must be itching to go for a ride.  I'm itching to read about it... lol

Itching is an understatement.  I live on a scenic road frequented by motorcycles.  Feel like a chained dog as they drive by and all I can do is howl!

Wiring, brakes, windshield and alignment this week then back on body work after I get caught up on everything else.

Sadly, I won’t make the Rally this year but I look forward to reading all about it.

Dave, given how close you live to where the USCA National Sidecar Rally is being held this year,  it would be a shame.....almost criminal....to miss this Rally,  as you could see, and learn a LOT that could aid you in the finishing touches to your own rig.

This National Sidecar Rally moves to different regional locations each year, so it won't be this close to you again for another 6 or 7 years.

Drive your car, push your pickup truck, peddle your bicycle,  use your thumb to hitch a ride....but don't miss this opportunity.

Some of us have an extra bed available in our hotel rooms. Some people camping have space for an extra sleeping bag.

Be There.....or Be Square

You make a convincing argument by using words like shame and criminal.  You really made me take a second look at the calendar and the project. You hooked me with the fact that it won’t be in this area for a long time.

I WILL register now and see you all there.  I’m not sure the rig will be ready to ride to Maine, but that will be my goal.  At the very least I’ll trailer it up and be able to ride locally.

Any sense how many people will be attending and where most will be staying?

I think I read that tom has 125 registered as of a couple of days ago.  That’s pretty good numbers and likely represents 65-75 rigs.

Since the Rallymaster is a hominid, I shall address him as Tom, and not just "tom", as if he was a male turkey.

As stated by the Shrek-man, 125 people as of last count, and the place where most people are reserving hotel rooms is at the Comfort Inn, in Brunswick, Maine, just down the road from the fairgrounds in Topsham, Maine. There are other hotels, motels, etc in the area, but we encourage those that want a hotel room to stay at the Comfort Inn, as we want to take over the place, and boot out any non-sidecar people.

There is also camping, both dry and with facilities, at the fairgrounds.

IDEA:   If you do bring your Avenger sidecar to the Rally, even on a trailer, and it has not been "painted" yet....invite all rallygoers to bring their own can of Krylon spray paint, in various colors, and we can each spray a portion of your Avenger sidecar, for a nominal fee paid to you, just for the halibut.

So, charge $ 2.00 for a opportunity to throw some paint onto Dave Boyer's Avenger sidecar, and when all is done, you can decide to either leave it as it is (NOT), or repaint it whenst you get back home.

Talk about a motivational (and funny) crew and to think I was worried it might be used for paint ball practice.  Just registered for the Rally and getting registered for lodging now.

So, it turns out that my teacher Phil who helped straighten the frame and coached me through the fiberglass repair and my brother both want to experience a sidecar rally.

The three (stooges) of us will be arriving Thursday.  Back to the garage, still have a lot to get done between now and then.

The games are WAY more fun than a traditional moto rally!
