No tuner and not much room under the frame/battery cover to put anything else.
Then I would have it scan and see what calibration the ECM has. Did you buy the bike new or used.
Bike will be on the table tomorrow, current pipes off, bike side mount on and nearly new pipes on. Eight days of rain forecast so I’ll be working on the project between showers

Sounds a lot less dangerous than being the only male dancer at a bridal shower! 😮
Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃
That is one problem when buying a used bike. No seems to know what actual being done with the bike. Best bet is to have it scan. What exhaust do you plan to use. You should use one to help with the low end.
I have a lightly used set of Cobra true duals that mount higher and allow for bike side mounting. Saw online where Cobra tech said may lose a little HP but gain in torque. I’m sure they wouldn’t be anyone’s first choice but it’s what I have at the moment. Will adjust as needed based on actual performance.
Far from first choice, 25 years ago they were the hot ticket but over time people realized there more for looks a sound then anything JMO, but going to need a tune to gain anything. I would stay away from piggyback tuners. I would recommend you find someone that can build you a tune.
thank you
Do you happen to know if Harley taillights are on a relay? The Harley sidecar harness has an extra wire ( orange and white) for international models I think. Wondering if I could use that wire to power a spot light on the tub?

Dave, the question is...does that orange and white wire have 12v steady electrical power to it, or does it flash, or does it need to have a switch turned on to power it ?????
If it has a steady 12v+ coming out of it, or can have a steady 12v+ coming out if it if it is switched on, then yes it can be used to power a spot lamp.
The spot lamp will need to have a ground wire, but generally that can be a ground wire from the spot light lamp, to any local ground source.
Yes, this was sent to you by a weary traveler that is now back at home in the USA.

Brake light does not have a relay The orange and white wire is usual an accessory wire. If you use it for the spotlight make sure it's the right gauge or run a second wire and relay it. You should have enough room the send the second wire though the loom for a clean job. This is why I use a module now adays makes it a lot easier and you have no chance of overloading any circuits.
I changed out the mufflers today and they were actually Vance and Hines not cobra but I’m thinking that doesn’t make a difference.?
Weather was good today and I was able to put the bike back on the table in the workshop. Took the exhaust, floor board, brake
and crash bar off and put the bike side mounts on. Put everything back on along with the different pipes that were higher and allowed room for the lower mounts. Hope to test fit the frame and mock up the tub tomorrow
Looking good, A tune will get it running more efficient and run cooler as they run lean from the factory and that exhaust will make a big difference with the A/F. I would also install an oil cooler and expect to change your oil more often. Its air cooled and you going to need all the help to keep it from running to hot.
