A Complete Brand New Watsonian Sidecar & Bike Setup For $10K

In Jolly Old England a person can purchase a new Watsonian Sidecar mated with a new 400cc Benelli motorcycle for just under 8,000 pounds. Fully setup correctly, with quality sidecar components. Bonus quids for having that classic 50/60s styling.

To me that seems like a smoking great way to get into the sidecar world with a bit of assurance. Short of the bike being of Chinese mfg, that seems like an incredible deal.
Closest I know we can come to that in the U.S. is Mike Paull's PakMule. But I think that is still over $13K with finding a smoking good deal on a new KLR 650. Also big difference in styling with the PakMule being function over form.
Would be very cool if one of our sidecar mfgs could figure out something along the lines of the Squire SB1 sidecar outfit that Watsonian created.

First....jolly olde England is always with an E at the end of ....old.
Second.....8,000 Pounds Sterling is equal to $ 10,400.00 USD
Third....there is currently a real British motorcycle for sale, with a even better Watsonian sidecar....a 2016 Triumph Bonneville 865cc with a proper Watsonian Monza sidecar....for $ 10,950.00.....that I posted earlier today.
Merry Christmas, ya animals

Yes, and a beautiful rig it is. I was thinking of something brand new, built at a sidecar facility as a package in that $10K price range. So anyone with no experience can plunk down a reasonable amount of money, and know they have a quality product with a warranty.

Scott, don't make me tell the pilot of our outbound flight tomorrow to dump the airplane toilets over Northeastern Utah.
That bike/sidecar you are touting is an Italian brand of motorcycle built in China, with the lowest price Watsonian sidecar they make.
Dang it !
And the engine on that Benelli is less than have the CC's that the real Triumph Bonneville has.
Double Dang it !!
So, for all of $ 550.00 more, a buyer could get a real Triumph, more than twice the engine size, and a Watsonian Monza sidecar....AND....it is for sale right here in the USA, with the sidecar mounted on the right side of the motorcycle, vs the one your "were" touting, that is for sale in the UK, with the sidecar mounted on the left side of the motorcycle.
Triple Dang it !!!
I say, let's ask someone from a completely different continent, say...like...Australia, and see which Watsonian sidecar he prefers, the Squire, or the Monza.
Yo, Bruce @brstr, which sidecar would you prefer, the Watsonian Squire, or the Watsonian Monza ???
Quadruple Dang it !!!!

Utah is the dump station for continental air travel. That's why we don't worry about drones, and those of us with any intelligence wear wide brim hats. 😉
You point out one used rig that may or may not be properly setup, and doesn't come with a factory warranty. There are used rigs that sell under $10K all the time. But they are USED RIGS. Your missing the point of this thread, which is: Can we get new sidecarists into the fraternity on new properly setup easy to ride rigs with warranties, at a $10K price tag. I think it can be done.
My point of the Benelli is that bike sells for $4,900 (yes as I pointed out originally it is Chinese). That is only $100 away from bikes with twice the power, better suspension and more "main stream". If it can be done in England at their labor rates, it could be done here in the U.S. Whether there is a market is an unknown, but at a $10K price tag the "novelty" might catch on. Those folks tend to upgrade to more expensive and competent machines.
Important Side Note: Hope your trip is smooth, and you enjoy an excellent run-up to the Christmas holiday! 🍻

Well that be an odd question?
3 countries spaced as far apart is is possible.
3 sidecars shown.
One manufacturer for same.
Though 3 different models again shown.
Squire or Monza with another thats olde mix of both styles
Yet mine is a previous version on what is now a simplified Monza body type.
Mine having the flip foward screen for easier as against easy access.
Though easier egress would be a bigger advantage.
As has been discussed recently .
The other odd thing is the styling trims on mine to make its Monza type nose look somewhat like the Squire nose.
Then there's the methods used to propulse the above.
There's the Turner knock off styled mechanical motivators.
Turner born the day Eddie took the throne unlike my grandfather Eddie who was born the year before.
Yes I know it's diverging somewhat.
But still that's 3 Eddie's and I'm going in circles.
Though my Eddie once owned a sidecar.
Oh and the 3rd infernal combustion masterpiece is an Italian.
Complete with somewhat unique style and character not to mention other fine features.
Now was there a question?
Oh that was a question.....
Monza or Squire.
One fitted with an Eddie Turner style knock off.
Or a half powered knock off of the Eddie knock off......
Dangling here....
Well squires?
Propulsion wise there's no substitute for qubes.
So a half knock with a full motivator.
But I'm not about to swap my Italian.
Even if it's side kick has a knock off facelift.....
Which I bought because it at least looked squirish.
Which reminds me.
Eddie was Scottish but dads line was Irish...
So there you have it.
Or not.
PS I need to update that pic.

"I" am so confused. I see the point that Scott is making, and despite living in the dumping grounds of all continental flights, and wearing wide brimmed hats, he does make a good point.
I believe I understand what Bruce was saying, but with the Aussie accent in his typed out words, it is a little confusing, ergo, and therefore I will acquiesce.
I believe that to clear my mind, I shall fly off to the land of Nessie, the Lock Ness lady of the water, and eat some Haggis for the holidays.

Miles, are you sure that the whiskey used to braise the sheep's stomach will agree with your delicate digestive system? You might need to have it quality tested by someone...
But, Hey! at least it's not lye soaked codfish which FAR too many folks from Scandinavia eat with gusto in the north-central USA in some kind of twisted longing for the what-was. Then there's the whole "sugar on your lefse" battles that occur in mixed households.
Illegitemi non carborundum est!

Maybe it's time to become a mfg, and start recreating those used pieces as new for the same pricing. 👍
