Salutations fellow Sidecarists,

Most folks call me Chuy, but I am Gerald Gregory, Tennessee State Rep. You may have seen Miss Domino and I at a rally or two on the 2000 FLHTCUi with a Liberty sidecar. I got into sidecar riding literally by an accident. As I survived a terrible riding ordeal in 1997 while attending the Laconia Rally in New Hampshire. I recovered as well as possible, and was in Sturgis in 1998 on my first Sidecar rig(1998 FLHTCUi and TLE sidecar), and new prosthetic limb, as one of the many injuries I survived was an above knee amputation. Sidecaring has given me the opportunity to keep riding the countryside and meeting interesting Folks in my travels. My rigs always get a good look over for hidden top secret sidecar technology....... basic_smile

or maybe it was just Miss Domino they were looking at.....

I have submitted a few stories for the Sidecarist magazine, I tried to get The TinShed sidecar Pow Wow going ,  and have been a member for some time. Apparently, I just have never posted here.

I guess I will have to post a couple more times before I can share any photos. If you see me around Mena , say howdy, I am easy to spot at 6'6". If any other Tennessee sidecarist are heading over to Mena, I will be leaving the Fayetteville, TN area to head over on Wednesday morning . going to do the 8.5 hour ride in 2 days to enjoy the trip over.

Looking forward to visiting the Mena Area and meeting all the wonderful sidecarists.....

Ride safe All and Be Well,

Chuy  Sweaty

Good to have you active in the forums and helping bring sidecars into public view in TENN-a-see (see, i pronounce it correctly!). At 6’6” that ought to be quite visible!

Just chiming in to say hello.

My wife and I will be heading down for the USCA rally on the 4th. We will be trailering our 2012 Ural Patrol behind our class c and possibly staying at the Iron Mountain campground.

Is this where the majority of the group is staying at ?

We also have a 06 HD Ultra with a Motorvation Formula II sidecar project. I have a few things to finish up on it. I need to get the hack brake hooked up to a master cylinder with linkage to the bikes back brake. Also need advice on gear reduction in the primary and an ez steer.

Will John Sweet be there selling these systems?

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hard to say how many are staying at Iron Mountain.  Probably about half IME.

Greetings and thanks for the opportunity to use and participate in the forums. My wife and I are long time riders including two up as well as hacks.  Two up rides were largely Iron Butt rides. However, whilst being "vertically impaired" our 2013 BMW 1200 GS with a DMC sidecar allows us to camp and explore places not safely accessible riding two up.   Can one ever have too many bikes?

Love the early gooses.

And those indicators.

Always liked smaller but they are great.

Hello Members and fellow newbies....

I have a Suzuki (Boulevard M50) with a California Friendship sidecar. I've been a 2-wheeler for years and just last November had the sidecar married to my bike. I'm hoping to get the hang of riding with a sidecar while we have the summer months in front of us. I've had some practice runs back and forth on our long driveways, but have not been out on the road yet.  My mentor was my husband Gerry, he sadly became ill last December and passed away towards the end of March.  We had 30 very memorable years of riding our bikes.  He added a sidecar to his HD a few years ago, which eventually led to his support in my decision to do the same.  I joined this Sidecar forum in hopes of making new friends/connections, and helpful guidance on my new journey.

To all of you....keep the rubber on the road and the shiny side up!  Go get some wind in your face today 😁.....Lee

Welcome Lee to the asylum as they say.

So sorry to hear of your loss though.

Hopefully there are some members closer to you than my wife and I to make you feel welcome also.

My clock currently reads 12 hrs different to New York city.

And it's winter here....

Curious though is there any steering modifications on your Suzuki?

Bruce.

Welcome to the forum @Lee Niebuhr

Where are you located?  Perhaps some of us fellow sidecarists can meet with you along life's road.

@webmaster I keep getting emails asking for me to introduce myself, however I thought I had responded, and had sent in 3 additional posts.  Moreover, while I was encouraged to send a picture of my rig, the instructions indicate that I’m unable to until 3 posts have been received.

Request clarification, please.

No problem for what I see.  Did you try to attach pics?  Your post count says all clear.  Automated systems are like your elderly aunties - they have a tendency to forget how much you have grown up!

@swampfox   I'm in the southwestern half of Virginia.  Lots of beautiful backroads here, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is in striking distance.  -Lee
