My apologies again.
The T-shirts. And from the For Sale section, the seller in Maine with the SoA chair.
This is harder that transitioning from two to three wheels. I even had a steep learning curve to quit putting a foot down at stops. (When I went back to two wheels, the lesson was learned very quickly.)
Hello, Here’s my introduction:
I just picked up my Watsonian sidecar attached to a 2018 Triumph Bobber last Monday. It’s been a trying nearly 3 years in the making, the delay caused by an illness with the original dealer, but Texas Sidecar Company was able to turn it around in 6 months while servicing their customers ahead of me. I’m delighted with the results. (I understand that I’m not able to post a picture until I respond to 3 posts, so I will post a picture after that.)
My first positive experience with USCA after joining years ago was a member who I contacted from the directory who drove to my house and let me drive his Ural while he rode my Bobber. My second experience was a rally in Rusk, Texas where I took my Scottie (by truck) and met other sidecar owners. Everyone was warm and welcoming.
I’m a retired 30-yr Marine and grandfather of 2 granddaughters. I started on a Bonneville, then switched to Harleys, but won’t be without both. My solo bike (now so-named) is a 2020 Softail Slim. I’m lighthearted when it comes to motorcycle brands and have been known to wear Triumph gear on Harleys and vice versa.
My focus is learning to safety drive the rig and learning the best way to secure my dog to prevent him from getting injured.

Oh dear.
If the shoe fits?
It'll be a shoe in?
It'll straighten up once you get your toe in?
Have I toe nailed it yet?
Or do I get the boot?

Paul Mattoon @paul-mattoon....WELCOME to the 2nd greatest show on Earth.
You have a great attitude, which...is a key ingredient for owning and driving a sidecar rig.
Where do YOU live ?
Now is your chance to make a 2nd post

@brstr Very good! I've toyed with some expression of shoestrings and eyelets on the nose of the chair.
I need to improvise a windscreen.
I found 2 3" led headlights I plan to mount to this alum. disk

Well, I visited TSC and you were right. I have attached the quote, including the Triple Tree you suggested. Enjoyed talking with Kent and look forward to seeing him again next Saturday at the 2025 Fall Sidecar Muster, although I will only be there on Saturday.

Chris, from Texas.....now you see the light.....but wait.....as noted on the Estimate from TSC/DMC, that price at the bottom of the page does not include LABOR for the installation of the new triple trees....and then there will be new bearings and seals....and Timken Red waterproof bearing grease.
Based on that Estimate, and the need for labor to install the triple trees and associated parts, you will be very close to $ 14k....or up to $ 14,500.
Quite surprised at the cost of $ 2k to make the triple trees. It's their business, and they can charge whatever they want to, however when I bought the 3 separate sets of custom made triple trees for my Goldwing 1800's, the actual price I paid was $ 950...then $ 1,150....then $ 1,200 for each set.
And two of those sets of triple trees were supplied by the former DMC, as they had them made for them by an outside machinist. The 3rd set I bought was from Hannigan Sidecars, as they make them in-house, and produce dozens of the same kind, at the same time.
I did all the installation of these triple trees myself, in my shop, so knew the work was done right.
That Estimate of $ 2k to make the triple trees....is actually what the entire job should cost for the triple trees, including labor, bearings, seals, and...Timken Red waterproof bearing grease. All-In, $ 2k.
As I said, it's their business, and they can charge whatever they want to.

Hi,
I just recently bought this old rig. It's a 1984 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Special with a Harley-Davidson Sidecar. It's basically a Shovelhead Final Edition. It's been real fun to ride around and see people's reactions to it. I'm trying to figure out the model and year of the sidecar, but so far no luck. I'd post pictures if I could figure out how.
Thanks

As a security feature when registering, there’s a notification that pics and links can be included after the third post by a new user. Two more and you’ll be there. Meantime, let is know a little (or a lot) about yourself and your sidecar intentions.

Oh, ok. I'm a motorcycle mechanic in the Dallas area. I've been doing that about fifteen years now. I've always wanted a bike with a hack on it, but just recently was able to make that happen. I've got more bikes than I know what to do with. This old one I've got now is perfect for the kind of stuff I like. I'm hoping to get some help identifying the year of the car. I know they didn't come from the factory together. So far, I'm having fun riding it around town and my nieces love it.

Dwight, Harley-Davidson did sell motorcycle sidecar rigs on the showroom floor, as a joint package from H-D, meaning, a 1984 Harley-Davidson FLHTC could come with a Harley-Davidson factory made sidecar.
So, yes....Harley-Davidson did in fact make and sell sidecar rigs.
There should be an identification tag somewhere on the sidecar frame, or a Serial Number stamped into the sidecar frame, and using that number, you can find the date of manufacture of the sidecar.
2 more posts, and you can post 31.4159 Pictures of your 1984 FLHTC w/sidecar, and we may be able to tell you in 3.14159 seconds if that sidecar came with that bike, originally from H-D as a completed package.

Hahaha, hopefully so. I knew Harley offered bikes with sidecars attached, but I don't think mine is one of them. But hey, who knows. Hopefully, when I can post pictures y'all can enlighten me. Thanks again.

Dwight, post pictures of your H-D sidecar rig, and not just one fuzzy picture, but at least 8 pictures, and I will identify that sidecar rig in.....3.14 notes.
