I was getting the rig loaded onto the trailer when the hinge in the bike side ramp tore open a weld!  whole thing sagged and was high centered on the edge of the trailer.  I got a floor jack under it and a neighbor stopped to offer assistance.  Got it up onto the trailer between the winch and me pushing.

Took the ramps over to the local welding shop to get their hinge welds upgraded.  Should be ready this afternoon for an early morning departure tomorrow.

Update: Got it back from the welder.  He added gussets to both ramps on the downhill side and welded all the seams fully instead of short tacks.  Asked $45.  He got a good tip too.

Ready to roll!

Iuka Weather forecast for Thursday, Friday and Saturday are looking good, low in the mid-sixties at night, highs in the mid-eighties with sunshine. Perfect sidecar weather.

Looking forward to following the CMA guided tours, but when is the ice cream ride???  or is it BANANA SPLIT RIDES???

Norton(Kel) & I are in the megatroplis of Independence, KS.

So far we've only hit a few sprinkles, and ridden on a lot of wet roads.  We'll be to Iuka Wednesday evening.

So far we've had a few great stops.

Yesterday while stopped for gas in St. Francis, KS we stumbled upon a motorcycle museum that is pretty epic.  Even have three sidecars.

Today we toured a decommissioned Atlas Missile site in Wilson, KS.

Web site has the best pics.  AtlasAdAstra.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Iuka!

Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

In the morning Dad at age 92, dad’s care giver, Ana and myself pack up the vehicle and start our journey to the Rally. Business at Texas Sidecar has been great and the storms here in Texas has kept me from posting up much leading up to this the 2024 National Sidecar Rally.

David and Christy some of our dearest friends and fellow ice cream run buddies we look forward to riding together starting Thursday.

everyone please be safe on your journeys to and from the Rally.

Looking forward to my second USCA Rally. I'll be staying at Campsite 14. I have BMW R1200RT with Hannigan dual sport sidecar. I registered for the campsite starting on Thursday, but I've had an emergency childcare demand come up in New Orleans, so I won't arrive until Friday. I let the Park office know this morning so they would be sure not to give up my campsite. See you in Iuka!

As of now, Oldtimer & I plan to make our way across Arkansas & Mississippi arriving Friday afternoon, camping at the Park.

Work once again got in the way of life, so I have to stay home to work on a project with a deadline; however, Oldtimer Barry and James S. are making their way from Texas and should arrive Friday afternoon.

The parade in downtown Iuka with the Classic Car Club of Northeast Mississippi, over 60 sidecar rigs participated. Another 20 - 40 rigs were still riding tours. The most rigs I have seen together at one time in many years.  I loved every minute of it. Am so proud of the USCA members who turned out to support the city of Iuka at its first of the year Farmer's Market.  Food, crafts, drinks, live music and many, many spectators admiring the rigs lining the street. So many people photographing the rigs and their owners, making the sidecarists there feel like rock stars.

Tomorrow we ride to the Village of Burnsville to support their Fire Department annual fundraiser. They offered their vacant fields around the station for sidecar games. We won't disappoint them. We have four entertaining games set up to entertain the spectators and challenge the riders and monkeys.

Stand by for photos coming soon.
