Looking forward to go... never visited this part of the country.
If anyone is riding from TX maybe we can plan and ride together,
Hello from Plainview...
Think I rode with you last year...or was it the year before...
Anyway, I plan on trailering my Ural....I know...I know...but its really not a touring bike.
Maybe I will see you somewhere on the trip or at the campsite!

hi Brian,
We really should plan some more rides, around this area...
Looking forward to see you there...

I just tried to book a room at Best Western in Sturgis. They are sold out on Friday 6/26 and running very short on other days of rally.
Holiday Inn Express [Sturgis] still has rooms available. But they are very pricey.

HOTELS AND MOTELS IN STURGIS
Try the Ramada at Black Hawk. It is 11 miles south of the Rally site at exit 4. The folks at the Elkview speak highly of it. It's website is www.ramada48.com, phone 605-787-4844.
Super 8, phone 605-347-4447. West at exit 30 behind the Sturgis Motorsports (BMW Yamaha, Suzuki ).
Days Inn, phone 605-347-3027. 2630 Lazelle. Just off Exit 30 to the West across from Sturgis Motorsports.
Knights Inn, 605-347-2506. 2426 Junction Ave. They seem to operate several seasonal motels on Junction.
Holiday Inn Express, 605-347-4140, 2721 Lazelle west of exit 30 beyond Sturgis Motorsports (BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki)
Word on the street is that Best Western is full.
The Sturgis Hotels and Motels are around 7 miles or less from the rally site.

Actually, its at exit 48.
There are several mom and pop motels in Sturgis....I'm betting they wont be full during our time there.
There are also a few catered camping vendors that provide preset campsites during the rally in August...some of them might even be willing to provide them during our visit....
Hi Again:
Brian is right. There are a couple of Mom and Pop Motels along Junction Ave. Harold an I looked at them the (drove by) the last time we were in Sturgis. they all seem to have been absorbed by Knights Inn. I dialed their number and got a recording. They are closed for the season and will start taking reservations on May 5th. I Googled Kinghts Inn Sturgis, SD and tried to reserve a room in June. It came back at $95 per room. That may be the going rate for motels in Sturgis in the summer. I don't know since I don't need motels in Sturgis. I am not sure what their number of rooms is but the other sites seem to refer those interested to Knights Inn.

I noticed there is nothing about the cost for the Rally on the first post, I read in a post in other events and it had cost included for this Rally. can we put all cost involved for this Rally on the first page
is there a reservation form to fill out and is sending checks in advance the only way to pay. is the cost per person, sorry for all these questions but I am new to all of this and need to plan in advance to make it happen
All that information should be on the rally page that can be entered from the home page by using this link http://www.sidecar.com/rally.asp. You are right it is not there. It was supposed to be there by by Feb 1. let's give our voleenter webmaster a lettle more time. In the mean time I will try to put the rally fees on this thread . That is about all I can do with my limited cyberskills. Harold Trying to be a snowbird in Arizona

Yes registration and membership can be done at the gate.
Hi Everyone:
I am getting email pre-registrations that look like people are trying to fill out the email form and mail it to me. That doesn't work. BUT there is a .pdf form that you can copy off, fill out and snail mail to me. When you log on to the rally registration page - the .pdf link is at the bottom left of the screen. It prints out a very nice and complete form.
The other system (fully email pre-registration) results in two emails to me. One is the registration form. The other is the PayPal record which will include all fees and the T-shirt order.
