That is an unusual looking beasties there. 

If I tried similar here it be pulled over on site and declared unroadworthy.

Do not pass go.

A totally unreasonable attitude I know.

Glad you can do it though.

The funny thing is that in order to get a hand built motorcycle registered here in California, the process ends with an inspection by the Highway Patrol. They are really only concerned that you are the rightful owner of the parts used to build it. If it passes. they install a state issued VIN to the bike.

This is the third bike I've been through that process with. It is registered as a 2006 SPCN (special construction). Here is the rear lighting it had back then, one trailer light, also no speedometer, no turn signals, (there were mufflers on it when they inspected it).

I earned a few speeding tickets on other bikes, but I've never been stopped riding this one. I did have giant Yolo County deputy start checking the bike out once when it was parked outside a drinking establishment, but we just talked about motorcycles for ten minutes while I sipped a beer, he was cool with it.
