Sidecar camber control and door unlock not working…
@andrew-baker I disconnected both items last night just to make sure they weren't interfering with anything. Unfortunately, no difference was made.

Posted by: @cms062407@andrew-baker You have overestimated my skills in checking electrical connections...I do have a multimeter, but I have no damned idea how to check the power on that 6-prong switch...I would imagine you would check two certain prongs at a time.
The bike doesn't need to be fully turned on and the engine running, just the key in the On position. I am testing it with the key in the On position.
Attach a picture of the switch, maybe we can figure out what's what from that.
Crisis may be fixed…will post an update once done wiring this back up….and yes, it was an absolute noob mistake if this is the case.
if it’s the issue I’ll post two different pictures and you all have to spot the difference lol.
i told you, wiring is not my thing….but lesson learned.
PROBLEM FIXED…dumb dumb issue. I can’t do a before and after because I didn’t take a photo when it was messed up….buttttt I had a set of wires on the negative terminal when they should’ve been on the positive terminal.
I’m surprised no fuses blew? But then again, I’m sure it’s quite simple why nothing blew and it’s my lack of knowledge as to why I don’t know why one didnt blow.
yes, I know…you can roast me. Here is the after picture…someday here soon I need to figure out someway to make this wiring look a bit more presentable.
the set of wires with the yellow connector at the end were connected to the negative terminal.

Alright! Everyone starts somewhere.

When I was in computers first thing we would tell folks - power and cables. Always check them first.

Chris, congratulations on finding and fixing the issue. The lessons from the self inflicted ones stay with you the longest!
You might consider a fuse box/relay panel like this one:
It would be a way to get most of the stuff off your battery connections. I have run them on several Africa Twins with happy results. The guy making them is in Japan and seems to have access to decent quality components. Delivery is reasonably fast.
The box has a power and a ground lead, with a big fuse, either 30 amps or 50 amps, depending which one you select. It also has a relay that triggers off the ignition circuit. The relay gives you 6 circuits that are switched and fused to whatever size fuses you want to use, upto maybe 30 amps per circuit. (No, you can't run 30 amps on each circuit simultaneously!!!) It also gives you two unswitched (always hot) circuits to connect stuff that you don't want to go off when you turn the key off.
These things are not a necessity, but they do really help clean up crazy accessory wiring from prior owners and make trouble shooting mostly painless.
The one I have installed now runs my heated gear, some accessory connections, the camber control, and maybe the hot connection for the winch switch that goes to it's own big relay.
This thread, over on the Africa Twin forum goes into alot of detail with pictures on my installation on Black Betty (that sweet girl.) Here:
Left side are ground, right side are hot. This pic is prior to connecting the accessories, just shows the unit wired in place and ready to connect to. Fuses plug in to the middle, the micro size spade connector fuses.
The guy has a couple of customer installation videos up on his website that make it pretty easy.

Redirecting electrons is always a long process for us mortals.

Well, Chris, I had exactly the same issue with my former Royal Star Rig. Except that EVERY SINGLE ADDED WIRE was the same color - red. They could all reach either terminal as well. And because there were often unintended gaps between repair events and sometimes whole winters, and because red in a cell phone pic is still... red, well....you understand.

See, you guys don't need me at all.....to mess things up.
Chris, go on Amazon, look up Blue Sea electrical panels. You will find the one you want.
Yes, power the new Blue Sea electrical panel by connecting it to the switched power at + pole in the accessory section of the bike's fuse panel
Drew.....Chris is half our age, or.....one quarter of yours and mine combined ages, so he hasn't been through the deepest trials and errors of life, so we may have a lot of hand holding here.

How was the wind, Miles? Pretty brutal here - steady 25, gusting to 40. Nasty fire watch and air is positively grey. Only 10 miles each way, but getting battered like a mouse by a cat isn't much fun.

Wait a second. I'm only 30 yrs old (in my head). So if Chris is 1/4 of yours and my ages that would make him the same age as me.
