The Refuge Church of Milam https://milamrefuge.org/ , just 4 miles from Holly Park,has graciously offered to host a breakfast for us at 8:30 on Saturday morning, May 3rd, for donations to the work of the congregation.
Bryan tells me the menu should include bacon, eggs, pancakes and/or biscuits & gravy. Β
The forecast for the Muster includes a 45% chance of a 1/4 inch thunder storm on Saturday afternoon.Β Not a not wash-out, but we need to remember to pack our rain gear.
The proposed schedule of activities for the Muster include:
Friday
6:00 pm Ride to supper to one of the local restaurants, perhaps Martin's Corner (8 miles) or The Lake House (14 miles)
Saturday
8:00 amΒ Gather up for the 4 mile ride to breakfast (donations) at The Refuge Church of Milam
9:15 amΒ Ride 4 miles down to the Sale on the Trail in Milam**
10:30 am Ride 7 miles to the Gaines-Oliphant House
11:15 am Ride 12 miles to the Patricia Huffman NASA Museum in Milam ($5 admission)
12:30 pm Visit the Sabine County Museum in the old jail on the courthouse square, break-up for lunch at various cafe's & visit the grocery store
Β 2:15 pm Gather up on the courthouse square for a 30 mile indirect return ride to Holly Park
Β 6:00 pmΒ Dinner on the grounds - Jena & I will plan to grill up hot dogs, sausage, etc.

The oldest house in Texas was closed for visitors, so we rode to the interesting NASA Museum in Hemphill. Hemphill was ground zero for debris recovery after NASA's 2003 Columbia shuttle re-entry disaster.
