The mascot for the University of Texas is the Longhorn. With the expression "Hook 'em. Horns"
For those who have never ridden in West Texas, here is a frequent sight. Typical longhorn, don't get too close, their reach is a bit more then one might expect.
Who is that shy white one behind the boss? A short horn?
Nope, not short at all. Might even have longer horns that curled forward instead of wide.
Even the ranch horses are smart enough to be cautious when working around these critters. A quick nod of the head and you're gored.
They might not be a wild animal, but they definitely are not anyone's pet.

Listening to Mama beats reading the instructions for sure! 🤩

Not Doggles, maybe Bullggles for him...
And, and, and... bigger, MUCH bigger, no, the HUGE size Depends!

The Old Man & The Sea......oops, that's another story.
The Old Man & Red Dog are in Homestead, Florida for the night. A very long day, 704 miles, and almost every kind of weather.
Tomorrow...a hope, skip & jump down to Key West, and the end of a successful UCC ride...Ultimate Coast to Coast, and his specific intent to set the NEW RECORD as the OLDEST rider to complete this ride.
Rides like this are as much about Endurance, as they are about the distance ridden.
At 80 years olde, Jan Daub has shown....to others, but more importantly to himself....that he still has the skills born from experience....to Endure a ride like this.
Two Million Mile Rider
Exploring the World in Comfort

The Farmers Association of Utah Group (Faux Group) would like to invite Jan for a ride through Eastern Utah each spring.
A month of Jan's riding should provide enough rainfall for our crops to get a great start. 🤩

UCC-Day 18 - 8/5/25 - Pensacola FL to Homestead FL (updated for eastern route)

Thanks for that map Viajero, I took the eastern route as it was faster... as that's what google says.
We are about to raise the age bar on IBA’s Ultimate Coast to Coast challenge,
Am in Homestead, FL tonight. An easy130 miles in the morning puts me in KeyWest in less than 30 days.
Then there is time to reflect and analyze what went well, what to do different next time?
One thought that still makes me pause, with all the power, reliability and engineering the Goldwing possesses, how in the h*ll did I complete the UCC on a simple little URAL in 2013? When down shifting to 5th gear on the Wing to get up some of those hills, the 2011 URAL was pushed to its limit many, many times.

Did he say "NEXT TIME"??!! 😮

Aye. He did, laddie.
Illegitemi non carborundum est!

Obviously a part of the 5 year plan.
Which reminds me of dear old dad.
At 85 he went and bought a new car on time payment then set off to visit his sister in Victoria.
On the other side of the continent.
Drove till he was 92.
That would make it more than 80 years driving on roads.
Of course the 1st engine was a hayburner.

Quite literally a deux cheveaux.
