Does it look like this rig has a raked triple tree? I'm thinking not, but..

It doesn't look like it to me, either, but I've been wrong before.

It does not look like it has them. We offer 6 degree tree's for $895 We can also install them if you need.

Draboo,

It appears that if you get that rig you'll be able to cancel your gym membership. 😉

My guess in no as the wheel looks to close to the bike.

May I ask a question: I believe the 1990 GoldWing with California Sidecar (Companion II, I believe) I just purchased does have the rake modification. Is the GoldWing still reasonably rideable solo with this mod? That is, I have planned to try at least once seeing how hard it is to disconnect the sidecar and use the bike as a regular GoldWing, but want to know going into it if the rake mod is going to make that a poor option.

Thank you,
Phil "Total Sidecar Newbie" Augur

Phil,
No such animal as a Companion II. The Companion is a roadster type sidecar, the Friendship II has integrated fender and opens for passenger entry (examples attached).
Motorcycles with reduced trail are sometimes dangerous to ride as a solo bike. Quick steering that no longer is self centering is one problem, the other can be a nose wiggle up to a tank slapper on some bikes.

All the people that make raked trees say for sidecar use only.

"all the people that make raked trees say for sidecar use only" Not true, Many companies make tree's for use on Harley and cruser type bikes for people who care more about how the bike looks then how it works. Also of course tree's for sidecars are also good on trikes.

Being this is a sidecar forum I only said sidecar! I would not recommend running a raked tree on a solo and would not recommend it as it is a liability. I know all about raked tress and raked frames as in the 70s if you did not have a chopper you where not cool. Now I do not care what I look like as I ride for one person myself.

Well I'd have to disagree with most of what has been said about raked trees not being all that great for non-sidecar bikes. They work fine. They do create some issues in turning radius as the front end hangs out a bit more. But my experience with this is they handle like a dream on the open road. And the only tank slapper I've ever had with reduced trail was on a Big Twin trike front end I'd grafted to a 45 rear end. I didn't have the snubber tightened down and at a slow speed hit a severe hole in the road. Cracked both my forearms in the process of trying to get hold of the darned handlebars after they'd been jerked out of my hands!

I had much experience in the early 70s where most back then rode choppers. On a solo bike they make slow riding very hard on a two wheeler. Steve not sure if you are saying that you have ride solo bikes with raked trees or just your trike? If just your trike yes they are good on them and even Harley s triglide comes with more rake then the solo bikes.
