The Ali au
The ali arguing continues. Hoping to most weather proof it top and sides before flying out Thursday. Was very pleased to get the right front piece to fit nicely. Well nice enough. Up sized the rivets in some places from 3mm to 5mm. Actually I 1st used tech screws to pull the metal together while shaping with a large hammer and blocks of wood. The removed the tech's, then drilled out for 5mm. Some of the sheets have water stains. May require buffing and or phosphoric acid treatment prior to clear finishing. Nyalic.
Looking forward to Cambodia 🇰🇭 John of retired and riding fame has booked a visit from Vietnam for a meet up. His 70's Ural apparently still off the road. Should be good. Wonder if I can find a local donut hole maker. Perhaps Miles has the recipe?
If that's a new Hudson what's an old one?

I'm digging it! 🤩

Good to know Miles.
Look forward to direct flights to Phnom Phen from Perth airport.
And no not Perth Tasmania.........
( I have landed there a very long time ago.
I maybe hopeful on that who knows.
This trips minor adventure was to walk from T1 to T3 and back getting our boarding passes then on to T2..
There was only T4 left.
Boarding for PP soon.
Note sidecar content

While in Cambodia I get reminded of what a truly great machine is in the humble Honda step through. Along with the multitude of copies. There must be hundreds of millions of them. If the speeds aren't high they are just the thing. A work horse with many uses. Honda's request to his engineers was so you could hold it in your hand.
An Asian mindset that worked. From my hotel in Kep I hear them purring by. Some sidecar content.
Of course it's a changing world. But these things probably had a much greater impact than the model T.

A car show once did a segment on the Honda Trail 90 (might have been Top Gear). They said this was the most produced vehicle of all time - over 40 million at the time and that was some time ago.
Illegitemi non carborundum est!

I like the Model T comparison. 👍
Side note: Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. A part of the world I probably won't get to, and it is cool to see it through your lens, with your thoughts. Kind of an "every mans" perspective. 🍻

The house we stay at has stairs that vary in height from 140mm to 310 or so mm.
Older legs don't like this much as they have to get themselves up to the 3rd floor on a regular basis.
Not that we forget what we went up or down for at all.
Solution?
An external spiral staircase.
Made from what could be found at the local metal/ hardware shop.
Started this last trip a year or so ago.
Plans?
We went with empirical engineering.
A recent word I learned.
Suck and see.
The spiral part can only go so far then a short straight flight is needed.
Then a landing.
Will keep me busy and entertained for the next month till we head home.
The cows?
Just appeared on a side street as we were visiting Damon an expat American friend.
Was riding a little Honda at the time.

Hmm was going to load a couple of stair progress pics.
Had the USCA opened on the phone.
It is now asking me to log in again.
Tried on the other phone and realised I'd left the password book at home. Oops. So if I disappear for a few weeks it will because this device gets logged out also.
Worse things have happened .
Travelled this time with a small tablet and two phones.
One phone to keep my home number on but don't use ever because Optus said they'd load some internet time for a mere $5 per day.
Well I do use it with Whatsapp just in flight mode.
One phone to load a local sim card in so I can be reached locally.
And can make local calls.
For those who have my aussie number I can be reached using whatsapp.
That is when I have WiFi.
Which I do at my daughters house
Anyway I tried to share photos from one device to another to share here tonight.
Only one went through for whatever reason. So let's see if can load a picture off the wife heading out in a TukTuk.
She went for a swim on a new hotel 32nd floor rooftop pool via some 3rd world roads then across to a 1st world shopping mall.

Must have done the remember me thing on the tablet. Woke up at O dark 30 the night before last so nothing doing for a while. You old blokes know what it's about.
Went on line to discover the site was down for maintenance.
Meaning I was logged out.
Thought Oh well I'll be home in a few weeks .
But then yesterday it said in the top right hand corner.
Howdy, Brstr.
So here's a tip for a hot/warm shower without wasting water and they only have cold showers in the house.
Would work fine in the bush as well.
For a quick shower 1.5 litre.
The wife uses 2 to wash her hair and 1 when not.
A plastic bottle with small holes drilled in the lid in a circle.
Centre hole to fit a shortened drinking straw or plastic pipe.
It allows the air in.
Fill with cold and top with hot.
And Bob's yer uncle.
Or in my case.
Nephew, brother, dad, grandad etc.
Nephew jacked up on that and called his son........ Yep.
Jack....
True.

Glad you made it back online. 👍
Great idea on the shower bottle, and they are available at any convenience store. 😎
