Will track down a few more Morrie picks tomorrow.

The build year. I'm not sure of the start date but most of the work was done in the last 5 or so years.

Cab now fits a 6'5" man comfortably.

The only original panel would be the bonnet (hood).

The rest is mostly fibreglass including the bumper and sun shade.

It is workmanship of a kind not seen often.

Runs a hottie Toyota twin cam so gets along nicely.s

Morris Minor it would have been the same as the green ute Miles posted above.

The curved windscreen models sold here in small numbers from the mid 50's to the early 60's.

From about 1958 they ran a 1000cc 4 cylinder. With 4 speed with few changes in that time.

I have seen a few cab extensions over the years but this one is the best "custom" as against being a more standard car if that makes sense.

The year is not really relevant as such.

This one is running a Toyota twin cam with 5 speed .

Fast enough to get scary though it has some brake and suspension upgrades to go with.

Hmm only one pic uploaded that time.

for a time I had a 50 1/2 Willy's pickup 2wd.  It had been upgraded with the powertrain from a early 70s Chevelle - 350 CI + 350 Turbo Transmission and a Holley 4bbl and a 30 gallon stainless fuel tank.  My hopes of restoration were far greater than my skills.  It's drum brakes and tubed tires were sketchy when on the road.  I eventually gave it to a cousin and have no idea what happened after that.

Morris Minor

From about 1958 they ran a 1000cc 4 cylinder. With 4 speed with few changes in that time.

This one is running a Toyota twin cam with 5 speed .

The newer engines were actually a 1098cc.

My '57 Morris Minor Salon Deluxe 1000 originally came with a 947cc, and single SU carb.

When I  bought it,  it had already been  converted to the  1098cc engine,  with dual SU carbs, and the ribbed housing  4 speed  transmission.

I had previous experience  replacing the  bronze  bushings in the  SU carbs, so got these adjusted very tight.

Went through the  4 wheel  drum brakes, adjust, drive, adjust, drive, adjust.....repeat.

But that  1098cc with dual  SU carbs was actually  quite  spunky. Fun car to drive.

Might be wrong.

If you put white canvas on the hoop top it would pass for a Prairie Schooner!

1960 Morris Minor Traveller?  Just a guess. 🤫

What to give a shout-out to DRONE @ned, as being the first to recognize that Dave's pickup has the history of being a Morris Minor in its' heritage. Not a MM Traveller, but MM also made the pickups, and convertibles, and Salons, and vans.

Keen eye there, DRONEWink

Under other stuff as per the title on this thread.

And it's mostly other stuff at the moment.

A sketch drawn and published somewhere in November 1902.

Then an Ad from February 1903

Dennis has an engine and a donor frame.

The frame is possibly older than the engine by a year or 2.

The goal?

Next year's Beverley run.

That's the the commemorative run of the 1st motorcycle race in Australia.

September 1904 from Beverley to Victoria Park in Perth.

Started a couple of hours after the annual bicycle race.

They took the train from Perth to Beverley I think in the morning then Raced back to the city.

I would like to see a few more pioneer bikes involved to make it a proper race again.

They would struggle to get booked for speeding in a 50kph zone so why not?

Will see.

Slow progress on the toy carrier come potential camper.

Seems to date I haven't made any mistakes that I can't work around.

Just takes time to work through.

Part of the framework is internal as in the prairie schooner hoops.

The sheets are riveted to them from the outside.

Those sheets curve up and over.

In the daylight pic are 2 lengthwise  tubes that curve down to the front point.

There's 9 of these and the same sheets will be riveted from the inside  to them.

With a short straight piece were the sheet transition from a vertical curve to curves in the horizontal plane.

And where they overlap the hoops they are bolted through.

Sandwiching the sheets.

Simple,¿¿??

On another note our tickets are booked for Cambodia.

Mid Jan till the end of Feb.

Looking forward to my families there.

What is encouraging is the resiliency of people.  In my adult lifetime for Kampuchea to go from jewel to hell and back to jewel is remarkable testament to mankind's will to keep moving forward.  Enjoy your trip!

Went to my local Cafe after a run to pick-up some stainless and Ali bolts and rivets. Fridays the vintage and veteran motorcycle club meet for coffee here at Pengoes.

In between food coma's  note to self when Anne-Marie offers to top up my sweet bowl. Smile nicely and say no. Maybe repeat the no 6 dozen times.... it was a fun Christmas at the neighbours. Must say this little locality has been the most connected community I've lived to date.

OK progress.
