That's a nice-looking bike, wish you the best of luck.

I see it didn't hit the reserve, now you have to see if you can strike a deal.

I was trying to place a bid, but we are having severe lightning and thunder rain storms along the northern coast of Portugal,  so with about 8 minutes to go on the auction,  the power went out here, which meant NO WiFi.

By the time the power came back on, the auction was over....did not meet the reserve price.

As per BaT rules, the seller will only contact the last bidder,  the highest bidder.

I can only hope that if the seller doesn't reach an agreement with the last bidder,  he contacts me, as he has my email address.

All I know you were the highest bidder. The other person must have put his bid at basically the last minute which still gives you a couple more minutes to bid. But losing you WiFi doesn't help.

Ain't technology grand.

When it works in your favour.

That was unfortunate.

Still it saves me having to match buy that 55 BSA in NSW........

For an update:  I emailed with the seller of this 1954 BSA A10 Golden Flash,  he tells me his reserve price was $10k, which makes sense given the condition of this bike.

Short bio/history of this seller:  he is thee man behind the scenes at xkedata.com, which keeps records and all info related to Jaguar XKE cars.

He was the very first seller on BaT in the Premium auctions,  selling his 1961 Jag xke for....$ 235,000.00

He also has a 1931 Austin 7 that he will be selling in the future.

All this shows that he is really into restoration,  and does very high-end work.

I told him that when I get back to Washington State in late December,  to call me,  and if he decides to sell this BSA A10 Golden Flash,  I will be at his door with $ 10k cash in hand.

This delayed timing allows him to ask the previous high bidder if he wants it for  $ 10k, or....for the seller to sit on the sale of it, letting the BaT auction get far enough in the past, that he can sell it to me for  $ 10k, and I won't have to pay BaT the 10% commission.

Sorry Bruce, you may have to buy that 1955 Beezer anyway 😉

Oh no.....Bruce @brstr you may want to consider picking up a 2025 Suzuki V-Strom 650, if you are really trying to keep up with this olde man.

You did previously own a V-Strom 650 sidecar rig....that you never should have sold, mate friday

On another subject...

This place we are staying at in Salamanca. Spain....after we checked in,  we look out the window to see a Morgan stopping in front of the building...a Morgan that drove down from the UK. Five minutes later a couple in a Black Jaguar SUV come pulling in, also driven down from the UK.

I think the Morgan is parked next to me in the underground garage that is stories deep underground. 😁

Morgan?

3 or 4 wheels wheels?

Keep up olde fellow?

I'm flat out remembering which continent your on.

Potentially right about the Wee there, but keep moving along.

I now have the Fiat permanently housed in the trailer so I have free access to the mini mill.

Will see if I can machine triple trees from Ali.

Brits heading to Spain for the winter.  Would they be considered "Snow Birds, or "Rain Birds"?

Whilst we are in Salamanca,  Spain...this is one picture of the Torre del Clavero...that is literally immediately outside the apartment we are staying in.

I leaned out the front glass door of the apartment to take this picture

Scott,  thus far Salamanca,  Spain is the cleanest city we have visited on this trip, and today marks the halfway point...40 days down, 40 days to go.

The Olde Town section of Salamanca is very walkable.  We parked our car 2 days ago, and won't touch it until we leave here on Monday.

Of course it's parked in a 3 story underground garage,  where every turn is at least a 2 point turn, some are a 3 point turn, that is how tight the turns are in the dungeon.

After visiting Dijon. France for 4 days, then Bordeaux,  France for 4 days,  then Laredo,  Spain for 10 days, then A Coruña. Spain for 4 days,  then Figueria de Foz, Portugal for 14 days.....this place in Salamanca,  Spain is far better than all those other places combined. If a person wants to move to Spain. Salamanca is thee place to live.

Up ahead we go to Zaragoza,  Spain for 4 days,  then Toulouse,  France for 10 days,  then Tours, France for 6 days...then Paris for 10 days...then to Strousburg, France for 5 days of Christmas Markets, then to Nuremberg,  Germany for 3 days of Christmas Markets, then finally to Frankfurt,  Germany where we will fly home.

Whew....
