Looking for a 1954 Watsonian or Globe sidecar
There is a bike on BaT that I will be making bids on, ( yes, whilst I am in Portugal) as it gets close to the end of the auction,Β and this motorcycle came from the factory with......an original frame that has a forward upper sidecar mount boss to allow for mounting a sidecar to this bike.
Not saying that I will end up mounting a sidecar to thisΒ bike "IF" my bid is the winning bid, but....I am tickled that this bike was originally designed to have a sidecar....back in 1954.
Ergo, andΒ therefore,Β if anyone comes across a 1953 to 1955 Watsonian or Globe sidecar,Β one of the smaller versions,Β please let me know.Β

Β That's a nice-looking bike, wish you the best of luck.Β
I have spied, with my eyes....a second sidecar mounting boss on the frame of this 1954 BSA A10 Golden Flash, and this second sidecar mounting boss on the frame is for theΒ rear upper mounting strut.
Keep in mind, a sidecar would have been mounted to the left side of this bike.
In the first picture,Β that is the sidecar mounting boss on the forward down tube of the frame.
Location is also seen in the 2nd picture,Β if you blow it up, and seen on that forward down tube.
The 3rd picture shows the rear upper sidecar mount boss,Β northeast of the oil tank, yet behind the mono-block Amal carb.

I think this is the same model as young Dennis has.Β Β
His is a 49?Β Β There's a Murphy? Sidecar for sale near me at the moment.Β
Attached to an 87? Harley which is inconvenient.
Along with the colour and location etc atc.
But it most likely would bolt straight onto that beezer.Β Β
A bit different to a Honda.Β

Bruce, any chance you can get me a picture of that Murphy sidecarΒ ?
Just the sidecar,Β not theΒ H-D it is attached to.Β
You're right,Β it's not a Honda, but in the days of yore I have owned many different brands of bikes, from Nortons to TriumphsΒ to Vincent's to Ariel Square Fours, and....3 of theΒ 4 big brands fromΒ Japan, and a lot of H-D 's....and a couple BMWs too 😉Β
I only use Honda now, for sidecar duty, because it is the most reliable motorcycle made today.Β
My choice of this 1954 BSA A10 Golden Flash is because it was born the same year I was born, and it would be a great bike for very local roads, in nice weather,Β and to keep until.....The EndΒ !

I don't have Facebook on this device so hopefully it's the correct link.
The ad may or may not be current.
It reappeared the other day then I had to hunt for it.
Pinjarra is only a half hour away from me.
Emailed a few links to just bikes site in Australia.Β
Wasn't able to copy the pictures but was was a goldie for my year as well (55)
Now that site I think tends to keep pages up for the traffic I think.
There's a Guzzi rig been up for ten years that I know of.
But interesting units anyway.Β
Will try contacting the local Murphy rig guy if you like.

BruceΒ my being an olde guy...older than you (by one year) I had to do a lot of figuring things out to get some of those pictures that were in the links you sent to me,Β but I did get a couple,Β to begin with.Β
Note that the 1955 BSA A10 Golden Flash,Β that is from your birth year,Β also has the same sidecar mounting boss's on the frame,Β front and rear,Β as seen in the 2nd picture.Β

@miles-ladue and @brstar I live by the philosophy βold age and treachery will overcome youth and enthusiasm every timeβ. Β
Do what you got to do and make them wonder what happened!
Illegitemi non carborundum est!
As Paul Harvey was known for saying,Β "And now, The Rest Of The Story"
Pictures from some 70 year olde guy in Western Australia...
And now I present....The Dusting Sidecar.....the most beautiful sidecar in Western AustraliaΒ

I didn't think you younger guys were interested in classic rigs. Class of '47 here 78 yo and still goingΒ although more slowly. My first bike was a BSA A7.

Not mine but a fair bit of my work involved.
It was a fun project.
