I generally cruise at 70 - 80 kph, the same speed as is comfortable on a regular motorcycle.

A lot of people like to say how fast their bike is, but every time I go on the trans Canada highway I always see motorcycles in the slow lane being passed by all the other traffic.         The wind is the killer.

Generally run at the speed limit.

Was doing 100kph or so on the freeway yesterday just running with the mob.

That's the V9 Moto Guzzi Watsonian.

Air cooled push rod engine is at the high end of its comfortable range with the chair.

The 650 Vstrom rig would do that happily towing the camper as well.

Speed limits here in Montana tend to be a bit higher than most other places.  Interstates are 80 MPH and most state and US highways are 70 MPH.  Traffic tends to flow faster than the posted speed limits.  Annie and I tend to ride the speed limit most of the time when on our big rigs (R1200GS for her, R1250GSA for me).  I don’t enjoy the interstates so try to avoid them when I can.  There are, however, some very nice interstate rides here in the Rockies.

When we are on our smaller rigs (Ural Gear Up for Annie, KLR PakMul for me) we go considerably slower. No interstates and typically around 55-60 MPH on highways.

Yes if our speeds were the same a bigger engine would be on the menu.

70mph is the national limit now and while people go faster it can get expensive quick with the option of walking when silly speeds are involved.

Er walking becomes mandatory that is...

I once got my Ural up to 83, briefly, while coming down the side of the mountain, and that was more than enough for me. I typically cruise it at 55-60.

110  is the maximum limit on highways here.

I hardly ever see bikes being ridden fast, they are slower than most semi rigs.
