If you have any specific questions about the classes while I have let my certification laps they have not changed the course since I last taught it.
Another good resource is the "yellow" book "Driving a sidecar outfit" by David Hough, we sell it as does White horse press.

I took the course about 10+ yrs ago in Virginia, I see the OP is in OH, at least that's closer. I live in NJ, the Virginia ones take out of state participants and have them in a few different locations throughout the state. I did find the information on the Evergreen site.

There is a class the first weekend of every month in Lufkin, Texas, east central area.

What about the Ural dealer in Eaton, Ohio, do they offer or know of a class in your area?

This IS NOT directed toward any particular class. There are classes and then there are classes. The classes offered through the Evergreen Safety Council are taught by certified instructors using a curriculum that has been carefully designed to offer a complete overview of sidecar driving. The ranges are very well laid out with a high concern for safety. These courses are also insured. Even after you complete a certified course, you are not an experienced sidecar driver. Time in the saddle is the best teacher AFTER you get the basics.

There are also classes offered by non-certified instructors, without a set curriculum, without insurance and in some cases without a safe range. Please understand, there are good people out there providing good instruction and doing it safely. Be aware, not all instructors are qualified or competent. Ask if your instructor is certified or maybe was certified. In many cases an instructor may have gone to the trouble [and substantial expense] of getting certified but couldn't teach the required three courses a year to keep his certification.

There are also good dealers out there who will spend some time with you when you buy a rig from them. They are often very competent and have years of experience. In some cases they are great teachers and sadly in some cases they are great sidecar drivers but not great teachers.

Just know what you are signing up for, who is teaching it and what to expect ahead of time. Certified courses, taught by certified instructors, are usually the best bet.

These are trained and certified Evergreen instructors.

As Al said, there are other instructors out there too, you just have to check deeper to find out their qualifications.

The bottom line is, good instruction and training will pay off in safer riding miles for you and your monkey.
