hi folks, I'm new to the club though I owned a sidecar about 25 years ago and learned to ride it before selling. I have a 1977 Honda Goldwing GL 1000 that I'm kind of bored with, and also being an older rider, am considering a side car. I saw a 1972 Jawa Velorex for sale at a good price. Where could I obtain the mounts for my specific year and model of bike? I am a mediocre mechanic and would definitely need some support in addition to the proper equipment to set it up. I live in Southern Maine. Thanks, Brian

Welcome, Brian!  Glad to have you back in the sidecar world.

I will let others reply to your questions first, and you will definitely get a lot of good advice here.

Heya Brian,

I currently run a 77 velorex 562 on my VTX. It's a pretty light sidecar for the bike but did some frame reinforcing with the help of a friend.

For the mounts I started with those generic clamp style on amazon/ebay to get it mounted in a temporary position and make sure my math was right. From there I took everything off and with the help of a cheap welder (and youtube videos) made some custom mounts.

DMC of texas might have mounts for your specific bike. I'd give them a call first, every time I've called and consulted with them they've been very helpful.
