New tire install and repacked bearing and sand and painted wheel hub. Sidecar tire was dated 0611. Not taking any chances. Believe that dates to June 2011 meaning a 13 year old tire. Old one looked very good but far outdated.
0611 actually means it was manufactured in the 6th week of 2011.
I just bought 4 new Pirelli tires for my car and they had a 2324 date code. Couldn't ask for fresher rubber than that!
Edit--Oops! That would be pretty fresh now wouldn't it? I meant 2423 - 2nd week in December.
Have owned 5 rigs but Rig #2 is my current one!

OMG, my brain is mush getting all excited about tires!
Just went out to the garage. The codes are 4823. 4823. 4823. 4823. That's the week of November 27th. And I bought them on Feb 29, so they were about 100 days old. At least we can agree that those tires are pretty fresh.
And we can applaud Paul for replacing his old old tire.
