Having given this some thought..."I" think we should have a New Rule within the USCA....that whenever/wherever there is a Rally, or sidecar gathering, it should be determined...in advance...which sidecarist is coming from the farthest distance away....then...cut that distance in half, so that any and all sidecarists that live within that new "half distance" are no required.....Required I Say...to attend said event.
Example: I know that my mileage to the Flint Hills Sidecar Rally will be at least 1,900 miles, and unless someone comes down from Alaska, I will be the farthest distance sidecarist that shows up....maybe Brian in Canoe, B.C. is a little farther....so take my 1,900 miles...cut that in half...now we have 950 miles...and any and all sidecarists that live within 950 miles of the upcoming sidecar gathering are required to attend.
I mean, come on man, we got these things to ride/drive...not just work on in our sheds/garages/shops. So, let's all support these events by attending them.
I say, let's vote on this new rule. All in favor, raise your hands
(next thing ya know, the boss's around here are going to remind me...I don't make the rules....dang it)

Steve, I can assure you that the campgrounds at the Flint Hills Sidecar Rally are some of the best grounds, and campgrounds, and bathrooms you will ever find in this country, and the food served at the Rally was very good, quite edible, and one of the meals served in this years' event is actually at a facility in town, at a restaurant.
You will have very good grounds to sleep on, and walk around on.

I'll be on my rig with Olivia and my wife will be on her motorcycymal. We're going to be hitting I70 in Columbia. Not sure what time would work for you, but we might be able to work something out.

Columbia is 100 miles from me. Any idea what day you will be there? Where are you coming from?

@calvin-watson I live about 35 miles North of Columbia. I just booked our room in Council Grove and plan to check in around 3 p.m. We stop every hour or so. I'm thinking being in Columbia around 10;30 would get us thee about right.

What day are you leaving? Thursday or Friday?

How early can we get to the campground? I was thinking of showing up Wednesday.

Interesting....and not in a good way.
DirtyDR, we already have plans in place to spend Wednesday night at the Best Western hotel in Scott City, Kansas, whilst on our way to the Flint Hills Rally.
Remember ?
Leaving your house on Tuesday morning, with you in the lead, Scott @sheath in the middle, and me in the tailgunner position.
Then (new addition to the old plan) we 3 pick up Tim @Qwik in Carbondale, then the 4 of us skedaddle over to the Denver area, and meet up with John (spat)... spend the night there, then Wednesday morning the 5 of us skedaddle from the Denver area to Scott City, Kansas, where some of us already have reservations at the Best Western hotel in Scott City.
Then, on Thursday morning, we 5 skedaddle from Scott City to the Flint Hills Rally, at which we shall arrive at 12:45 pm.
YOUR camping experience begins at 1:00 pm on that day.

- That was a plan but I have no confirmations from any so far. As I recall you did not want to stay at John and Cookie's residence. We could just as easily do all of that a day earlier and show up at the campground on Wednesday. John and I are pitching out tents and camping at the rally, I have not heard what the others in the afore mentioned group are doing for accommodations. Now is the time to begin firming up plans.

I am going on a reconnaissance mission tomorrow Monday 22 for a day or three i will try out my new wigwam its huge but i have found that even a six berth cabin tent is no good for keeping things away from the sides it quickly becomes cramped if you have to cook inside etc. Simple really my lack of mobility needs more room and now Sam can stretch out. Bugger chewed up my earbugs earlier he should have been called magpie!!

Steve, if you are setting up the Taj Mahal of camping tents at the Flint Hills Sidecar Rally, please allow any volunteers to assist you, as it may make it easier for you. The camping spaces there are wide open, so lots of room to spread out, without encumbering a neighboring tent.

Single pole design makes it easier, tried in backyard and when i took it down i left the outer tent in place and rolled them both up as one, makes setup much easier

Hi Dana, Just sent you a "message". Apologies for the delayed reply.
As of yesterday, it sounds like the most probable course of action for me will be one or two long days to Kansas. Won't know for sure until the Tower gives me clearance to depart. Hoping we don't have another CloudStrike issue. lol
"Tower" has confirmed arrival plans. So that's a plus. 😎
Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

@calvin-watson Were leaving Thursday.
