OK, this is what I know about this “rally”

I spoke with Mike Smith, the “organizer” of this “rally”, and I’ll pass this info along.

To say that Mike is the organizer is not actually correct, because this is an unorganized get together. No entry fee or registration. Just show up.

The locals will put together some info about the sites to see and roads/trails to ride. It is not a Ural rally, it’s just a plane sidecar rally but two wheels are OK too. Mike said, if you walked in with a beer in your hand, that would be fine as well.

The “rally” site is the Fisher’s Landing & Resort. And the cost is $5 a night. It is a first come-first-serve basis but Mike tells me the place is huge and there should not be a problem with getting a space. If you need more info, contact the website shown in the OP.

If you need more info about the rally, call Mike Smith whose number is shown in the OP. But there is not much else to say. If you are interested is joining some fellow sidecar enthusiasts, sharing a drink (or two), telling lies around the campfire and seeing the sites around Yuma, show up.

Is anyone from this group planning to attend?

Any thoughts what the weather is going to be ?

Unless there's a blizzard between Boise and Yuma, I and another old geezer are heading out on the 16th to make an appearance. We'll be in the "Badlands Express II", Scarlet Red Street Glide/Liberty rig.
With 4" of ground clearance we don't plan to do much off-roading however. We'll leave that to the URALS and Dual sport boys. We are willing to share a drink tho'.

It was 75F in Yuma yesterday.

Hey, what fairing is on your XR1200R? Nice rig, by the way (seen over on advrider as I recall); did you raise the bike's suspension to better travel un-developed roads?

Don't know what happens to the post count here. I've been a member for a coupl eyears. But after maybe 6 months without a post, my id was gone and I had to start again; that took me from 40 to 0. Now my counter is zero again, and I think it was up to couple dozen or so. Guess the mods set it up so that unless you post continually, your post indicator is reset to zero over time...

I checked out BeemerBobs site. Looks like fun. But if he is going to take that trail I hope he got an early start. My welded is an avid 4wd guy, and they take three days to cover the 120 odd mile route from Tucson to Yuma. But you apparantly need permission from the Feds... I'd still like to try it sometime myself; maybe a couple miles from the Yuma end this weekend, if we can ride a section without a prior permit.

The fairing is a Rifle Roadster. Looks better than it works at speed. But I'm expecting a Laminar Lip today (oddly enough, it appears a early KLR650 fairing is similar) that I hope will solve some buffetting problems. And yep, the rear shocks are 2" over stock, the rear wheel/tire is 1.5" over stock, and the Heidenau tires are about 1.5" over stock. I tried for 12" ground clearance, and ended up with about 10". But I'm overall pretty happy with the rig. The USD forks still have too much lateral motion for my comfort level, so a LL front end is currently in design...

Pago, the forum encountered some software problems in the not too distant past with hundreds of "flood" posts from some phishing software, so much of the forum was reset and adjusted. Maybe your count reset then?

Thanks for the comments on the fairing. I'm going to try the old Dyna Convertible windshield on my Sportster rig.

On the soviet steeds site there is a handful going so you won't be alone.

On the otherhand, anyone that owns a RPOS, is not of sound mind so they will prolly get lost on the way to the rally
