Eh? Oh! Two horse power.
Just realised this was 100 years ago or so.
I think his on road experience started with one.
Are we there yet Jan?

If he departed before 5 am EDT, then probably, yes.

Oh, and when you get done, have a margarita in the Conch Republic! You’ve earned it!

Congratulations Jan Daub on setting the New Record for the Oldest rider to successfully complete the IBA - UCC.
80 years young....
Which brings us to the question: Are you ready to do this ride again, in '26, or '27 ?
Maybe just a ferry ride up to, and around Alaska, then a ferry back down from Alaska, in '26 or '27 ?????

Congratulations for sure! You didn't just beat the 30 day deadline, you crushed it! 🍻
Mission Impossible... Mission Improbable... Mission Accomplished! 🤩
When can we expect the book, and follow up movie staring Tom Cruise as the venerable Sidecarista & retired CIA operative completing death defying missions along the route to save the world? 😎
Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

The finale...
The beginning gas receipt in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, July 19th, 2025. 18,793 miles
Ending Gas receipt, Key West, FL, August 6th, 2025, 24, 985 miles
The first of two end of ride witnesses, the Chief of Police, Key West, FL. Note the four gold stars on his collar.
6,192 miles ridden in 18 days (based on start and end times), 4 rest days. Avg 442 miles a day. Was not looking to set a UCC speed record, just to raise the bar as the oldest person to complete the challenge.
Age is just a number. If the mind believes it, you can do it. Don't listen to those who say you are too old, poor health, out of shape, etc, etc, all excuses. They are standing in your way of you reaching your goals.
You're doing it or not doing it is all in your mind. Believe in yourself and do it.
Who's next? Who is going to raise that bar even higher?
p.s. Lost 19 lbs on this walkabout. No crying over that.

Were you going for the Ghostbuster look?
oh, and did you set a speed record in the process?

@scott-h Tom Cruise is about a foot too short for Jon’s frame. Of course that never stopped him from portraying Reacher…

I am truly impressed with your amazing accomplishment, sir. Well done. I told my (non riding) brother of your exploits. He's 83. He told me he wouldn't have tried that trip when he was in his sixties...... in a four wheel drive truck.

Someone elsewhere suggested a 48 States Run in 10 days. If that were too easy a task, we could put Miles in as monkey/copilot to up the complexity.
I could definitely get in on the ground floor crowdfunding it for an Amazon Prime documentary. I’m seeing Pawn Stars meets The Ozbournes?

Oh that would be entertaining, you realize both Miles and I are hard of hearing. Him navigating, giving me turn by turn instructions and my guessing he wants to stop again for lunch... 😱

Yes, we know that it was Khud, or Kevin, that suggested that....silly man.
My first reaction would be that it would be better if I am the pilot, and Jan is the monkey.
But, given that both Jan and I have ridden the 48 states in 10 days, there is no need for us to do it again, however....
I am up for doing a sidecars version of the USA 4 Corners....or a 48 states/10 days in sidecars, with possibly a total of 4 rigs doing it together.
