Just bought a sportster with a Champion Legend sidecar. I plan on eventually attaching the sidecar to a 2004 roadking standard. Ive priced new hardware and it’s a little pricey, so I am coming on here to see if someone wants to sell their mounting hardware for a fair price. Im guessing there are people/shops out there that have these items in a box somewhere because of a sidecar sale or switch and it’s worth a chunk of money. So if you or you know someone with the hardware for this particular rig message me. Once again, I can buy these mounts from the manufacturer but I am doing this on a budget and would like to save a little money.

Unless you have a way to make some parts or modify them. In the long way you be cheaper just to get the right mounting kit from the manufacturer for the bike. It will also save you some aggravation.

Duane @froggman180, the post above by 2FLTC is absolutely 100% correct, and frankly, I have been sitting here eating 18 boxes of Oreo cookies, waiting for 2FLTC to come here and post that, as he is quite knowledgeable about HD sidecar rigs.

You can chase your own tail trying to avoid the costs of proper mounting kits. In the end, it will be frustrating to you, and you will have spent MORE money doing it that way, than to accept the fate of the sidecar dogs, and buying the proper mounting kits in the beginning.

I say, contact Champion sidecars in So. Calif, and ask them for what you need to PROPERLY and CORRECTLY mount that Champion Legend sidecar to your 2004 H-D Road King standard. Also, contact TSC/DMC in Donie Texas....that is Texas Sidecar Company, as they may also be able to help you. And, contact H-D to see if they have anything, but my belief is that the mounts directly from H-D are going to be only bike side mounts, that may, or may not agree with the mounting on the Champion Legend sidecar.

Lastly, tell US....where do you live ? We might possibly have people in your area that can offer assistance.

Miles, which of the 314 types of Oreo cookies have you been munching on in this anticipatory fugue?  Inquiring minds want to know!

@2FLTC ok thanks- I just figured if someone had champion mounting parts for that particular bike it would be an easy solution-but you have a good point, it could go sideways and I would have been better off ordering the parts from champion.

@miles-ladue Im living in Dallas Tx. Thank you for your advice. I may be best to go to Champion for the mounts- my biggest problem is champion quoted me $1700 for the parts that mount to the bike- I was a little shocked by that price.

$1700 is a shocker to me too. Lately prices being going of the charts. I would give TSC a call see what he can do for you.

@2FLTC ok, I’ll try that in a little bit. I still have to pick up the bike it’s attached to in Florida in the next couple weeks. It’s currently attached to a low mileage sportster that I am buying for my wife. She’ll ride it for a little bit and then I am going to look into attaching it to the roadking

On a Roadking there's no subframe needed. They usual have three brackets that's needed.
