Can you be more specific?  What kind of car are you trying to attach?  Which hardware pieces do you need?

Spirit of America eagle. I don't know how to send pictures on here. But I need all the mounting hardware. It came with a universal kit but it won't  work.

Thank for the update, Stan.

You are correct that ALL of the pieces that came with the "universal mounting kit" won't work.

Tell us where you are located and there is probably someone nearby who can be of direct assistance in getting you on three wheels SAFELY.

I'm not a Harley guy, so I had to look up the 2008 "Touring".  Turns out HD didn't make a "Touring" in 2008.  But I know Harley guys have a lot of unofficial names for bikes.  Is your Harley one of these?

  • Road King
  • Screamin' Eagle
  • Electra Glide
  • Ultra Classic
  • Electra Glide
  • Street Glide
  • Road Glide

Or is my ignorance showing?  Maybe they all have the same frame and connection points?  I got no idea.

That said, DMC used to have bike specific mounting kits for lots of different Harleys.  Since Texas Sidecars purchased all of DMC's stuff, I'm pretty sure Texas Sidecars would be my first phone call.

I'm going to advise a fair bit of research, Stan.  The thing that anyone here will tell you is that making a sidecar rig is usually a permanent commitment to it being a rig and not a "quick release" option.  We don't know what your goals are, bike is or much of anything about what you hope to have when you're done.  As such, we can't offer a lot of guidance and those with specific knowledge are unlikely to chime in until that point.

Not surprised. When they say they have a kit, they probably mean they have the specs and the jigs needed to knock up the parts fairly quickly.  But I don't think they keep hundreds of different subframes and connectors for hundreds of different bike/car combos stored in a warehouse somewhere.

I did a little internet search and found this pic of a 2023 Highway King combo that Texas Sidecars built.  Not the same as yours, of course, but it gives you an idea of what all it entails.

That sidecar frame looks to universal for me to be on a bike like that, but that's just me. The thing about pictures of the mounts I'm sure they have them, they might be worried about someone trying to get ideas to make them on their own.
