Do you have any clearance problems between the tire and the fender?
I took my girlfriends grand kids for a spin on Easter, they loved it! Weather here in MA is supposed to be up near 60 this wknd, I can't wait!

No clearance problems yet. Only about 3/16" between swing arm and tire but so far no indication it was hitting. I did tight turns and hard braking but still no issues. Have not tried it with the rig loaded down yet.
Saturday was an uncommon day here in Northwest Louisiana, sunny with low of 50* and high of 75*. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to ride as we spent the better part of the day ferreting out a pesky coolant leak on Mrs. SswampFox's Burgman tug. After removing the water pump, it appears there's a faulty o-ring between the pump and the engine block. We'll know for sure after we put it all back together upon receipt of a few more small parts.

Went for a 310 mile spin to the Loveless Cafe on the Natchez Trace
Visit to the mother in law was short but it took pretty long for to enjoy the twistees through the mountains!
A kind of Red Riding Hood trip. 😉
The summer gives its first break with a few clouds and seldom rains after 4 month of draught.
Rode with friends on our rigs to dinner in the next county. Beautiful day and lots of fun.
Beautiful fall day, went out for what turned into a 2=1/2 hour putt yesterday.
It was the kick-off day for a holiday week here (Flag Day, celebrating 115 years as part of the US), so a lot of people, and all of the police, were at the opening ceremonies, opening up the possibility of (ahem) 'spirited' riding on mostly empty road. (Most of the road here is twistys, max speed limit is 25mph), and actually managed to get the back end to drift a bit for the first time, even with wife and son in the s/c.
Had a blast. Wish the cops were off the road more often! 🙂 🙂 🙂
On Apr 6, 2015, my adventure started in Kennewick, WA and went to Spokane Valley, WA to New Meadows, ID to Burley, ID to Green River, WY to Ogallala, NE to home at Gowrie, IA on 11 Apr 15. If I figured correctly, I traveled 1923 miles of rain, hail, lightning, and wind, wind, wind! My 06 Kawasaki Nomad attached to a Motorvation Formula never missed a beat even at an occasional 75 MPH. All well and good but my shoulders and upper back have about given out from steering the beast. My tires were questionable when I left Washington State, but I need new ones on the bike now. The sidecar tire has minimal tire wear. I think my bike and sidecar faired better that the old guy that drove it!
I finally have one! I arrived in Phoenix about noon, put my hands on it for the first to me a n the three months I've owned it. I went over it carefully, tightening bolts and checking things. Then rode it about a hunderd miles.

Congratulations on the new-to-you rig. If you swing thru Houston on your way home, stop in for a cup of coffee.

How about some pix?
I plan to write up a trip report with pictures when I get back hhome. The photos are on a camera, and I'm useless on this wonder-phone.
Perhaps when you have the story written and the photos downloaded, submit all to Martin for publication in the Sidecarist?
Jim - Tom's advice is good. Write that article and send it in to Martin. He was really frustrated last issue and needed copy. Harold and I bailed him out but it used up some copy that we wanted used in the next issue. Now we have to write some more stuff.
Now for my report. I got a chance to ride my rig on Saturday. I put 55 miles on the rig that has been broken. It only cost me $143 to have a mechanic do something I could have done - but it got the rig running. I also have a project going on in the garage. I bought an old Spirit Eagle that needed some TLC. I am applying some tender loving care so that it will be available for sale at the Monumental Rally. When I get it looking better I will post some pictures in the classified.
