Diverdown, I suggest a pair of the bluetooth helmet headsets. For example, Jena & I use an early version of the Cardo Scala Rider TeamSet for both driver-to-sidecar and bike-to-bike communication. They're not fool proof and occasionally loose their bluetooth pairing, but they work well - no wires and the batteries generally last all day.

If you want to go "wireless" I suggest the Sena SMH10. I've got the 'Museum of Bad Motorcycle Communication Ideas" in my closet. The Sena SMH10 is the best wireless solution I've found so far. If you want wired aftermarket system it hard to beat the stuff from AutoCOM. I strongly suggest wireless. Here's a link to Sena and their stuff is on eBay all the time. I'm thinking about selling my current set and upgrading to their new model with update-able software.

think I will try the Scala Rider team set, right price to see if comms will work for us, the wife and I plan to ride a couple of off road motorcycle rallies this year with the rig and she will be my navigator. stay tuned. hope Dr paul our regional rep get,s down again this year to ride the loose screw, him and I rode it together last year, me on my KLR rig and him on his Beemer unit. this year I have the Harley off-Roadster rig, wonder who crashes this year

I will add my vote to the Scala Rider bluetooth communicators. We upgraded from Autocomm a couple of years ago and wouldn't go back. Both of us would forget to unplug and recieve an nasty jerk when we reached the end of the cord. Plus - the bluetooth works with our cell phones and our version of the Scala has a built in radio. The big short comings of the Scala is the big lump on the side of the helmet and having to remember to recharge. I can live with that.

Aiden and I use the Scala Rider Q2 . It works great , we have been in torrential rains and no problems. I generally walk into a gas station and he waits in the sidecar and we can still talk. we bought them used when he was 2 and a half and the voice activation worked just fine for him. The Scala units I know will also link up to other Scalas so you can talk to other riders if your in agroup
