Posted by: @guha-ronniegmail-com@miles-ladue Cool Thank you. Any wheel chock size you'd recommend that I should look to buy/install? If I go to buy it from a trailer shop, I might as well get them to install the wheel chock as well. Thoughts?
What's the matter with you Ronnie ?
Make you own with a piece of 4X2
PS you don't need a chock anyway.
PPS Do you own a saw ?
@mick-boon lmao 🤣 you’re talking to an ex New Yorker that knows exactly zero about these things hahahaha.. I left NYC only 2 years ago. Btw I do own a saw and many more tools.. never really used them much in the past cos every time I wanted to do something , there was always something missing from my tool shed .. got tired of buying and never having enough tools to do even one job! Exact same problem with cooking.. I own so many spices but when I try to copy a recipe, there’s always some spice missing..
Haha 😆
Ronnie, a good cook, or chef, only needs 2 spices.
Salt 'n Pepper
Just do as Uncle Miles suggested....spend 10 minutes on Amazon looking at motorcycle front tire chocks, get that info in your New York brain, then ASK the trailer shop if they have one....and will they install it....for Free.
Do not mention you lived in...New York

@miles-ladue 🤣 you forgot chilies 🌶️ at a minimum - cayenne pepper!!
I’ll do my best Dixie accent at the trailer shop !!!
So, Uncle miles - is this chock good enough? It’s just a couple of screws to drill on the trailer bed.. I have several drills at home and all kinds of other tools.. I bet something that I have will work.. or I can order these from Amazon and take it to the trailer shop and have them drill it for me.
Ronnie, I would answer you with a YES....THAT ONE....
Except....you called me "Uncle miles".....with the "m" on Miles being in the lower case.

The thing I like about those types of wheel chocks is that it locks the front wheel in place quickly and easily and keeps the bike/rig from rolling backwards.
With most trailers, one would mount this in the center or equally distant from both sides for two bikes. for a sidecar rig, you'll want to mount it so that the weight isn't too much to one side of the trailer, causing imbalance and fishtailing by the trailer. Hopefully there is some structure under the trailer that the bolts can have maximum strength.
When I added that kind of chock to my deck-over trailer, I added two U channel beams underneath as mounting points since there wasn't any structure under that region. I also added four of something like these to the sides to make securing the rig a 4 minute process instead of a 20 minute guessing game since I rarely had anyone able to assist with tying down or releasing.

Uncle Miles! That I would agree 100% with!! Atrocious!!!!
I am a big fan of "Eats shoots and leaves" (leaving out the punctuations on purpose).
I was going to blame Daphne for typing that (3 yr olds can get away with anything), but she refused to take ownership of it.
So, sadly, I have to own up to it.. No more typing responses from the phone... From the computer only!!

El Presidente', the deck of the BearTrack trailer is sufficient to hold the wheel chock. I drilled 4 holes through the deck, then used large fender washers on the underside to distribute the attachment force of the bolts.

And Ronnie, Caretaker of Daphne....did you make certain that the trailer you are getting has the bi-fold loading ramp on the back ?
Once you have it, I will send you pictures of how to LOCK that bi-fold Loading ramp, so that no one can lower it, and steal from you....and show you how to add a couple LED red flashing solar powered lights to the trailer....NiteGuard....so that nefarious people assume you have an alarm system on the trailer.
My pictures that you are begging for....I can send them once I get home in 17 days. Until then...just suck it up, buttercup. 😄

@miles-ladue I was thinking of getting this one https://beartracktrailers.com/product/76-wide-utility-trailer/
BTU76144S 76″ x 144″ Single Axle Utility Trailer
"Bi-fold End Gate" is listed as a feature - that's what you are referring to as "bi-fold loading ramp on the back", correct?
However, I just noticed Overall Size (WxL) is 97″ x 188″
I measured the parking spot in my apartment complex and it is 80" x 14 feet.. this means that it would not fit in my parking spot.. ARGH !!!! I will first secure some kind of a parking spot outside my apartment complex first..
I need to get out of an apartment complex and live in a house or something.. Right now, my rig is parked a 5 min walk away and I am not even allowed to clean any automobile inside the complex. The idea I came up with is what they do in India. Take a bucket, soap water and sponge everything clean carefully without spilling any water anywhere.

Those ratchet straps are obligatory for Ronnie. Can you imagine him trying to figure out how to use the traditional ones ?
