I'm interested in the answer to this also. Now knowing the differences in handling between "riding" without a sidecar and "driving" with a sidecar..I could envision all kinds liability issues.

Remember a statement that Roger Spalding made with I picked up my Spalding Side rig. He told my GF, who has NEVER ridden a motorcycle, that it would be easier to teach her how to handle a sidecar rig vs me, who has ridden for over 50 years.

Hey Texan,
I can't stay away from this one.

A few years ago I was passing through customs returning from Europe and an airline pilot was in front of me. When the customs officer asked the pilot "Country of origin"? the pilot responded "Texas".

Oh, Ditch, LoL!!! I've stated several times, crossing over into Canada, when ask citizenship I'd say TEXAN. Most of the time I got a smile...man, crossed over at Toronto one day, said TEXAN and I thought she was going to give me free room and board for a few months. !!!

You have to remember that Texas was a Republic.

Connie and I are renting a sidecar rig in New Zealand for a 5 week trip this March. Not real easy to find, but hopefully worth it.

I can't afford New Zeeland, but I still want to know who and where rents sidecars. I would love to find one in Montana or Maine. Living in south Florida, it is a long hike to those two states. I have family in Montana and LL Bean in Maine. Need to see both. On the cheap. Trailering is a possibility, but I don't have a trailer. Anyone with good advice on a hack trailer?

There is a place in South Africa that we ran across on the net that rents Chang Jiang sidecar rigs. I do not have the link though.

Here is a link to one in China that rents sidecar rigs:

I realize New Zealand is a ways away. However, I have had luck finding sidecar rentals the times I have tried. What I have done is compose a short message and copy it. Then I paste to messages to local forums, local tour operators, and local bike shops (all pretty easy to locate vis the internet...google, etc). Sorta like this thread.
