Trail,

Er?

Bring it.

I am still confused.

Short of taking a 29 hours flight from the US to Perth, Australia, finding Bruce, and asking him to draw all this out in the sand on the beach, I fear that WE...North of the Equator...shall never understand what a Man Down Under that has a wagtail birdie as his assistant mechanic will ever understand what goes on...Down Under.

It is a mysterious world down there. Crazy

🏏 cricket? No.

He'd have a ball and there's a bat involved.

Well...I'm still confused.

Maybe it is because I am one year older than Bruce.

Yeah, let's blame it on that.

Scared

I've been confused since 1959. But here's my take on this exchange.

And?

How did it end?

A flat tow?

Or like Queensland roads.

Flat toads?

?

Bruce, here is the kicker on that '55 Nimbus with cargo box sidecar.....

I sent a message to the Seller via their Contact Seller link......NO reply at all....yet the BaT e-mail AI told me that my message had been sent to the Seller.

Two days later, I sent another message to the Seller via their Contact Seller link...again...NO reply at all...and again the BaT e-mail AI bot told me that my message had been forwarded to the Seller.

Okay, let me do an end around run....I find out who it is that owns this bike...via the Nimbus Club of America membership list, and I looked this person up online, got his phone number, and sent him a text message.

His wife responds, whilst she is also checking me out, and I can tell by what she is texting that she is checking me out online, as she posts some identifiers about me, so.....she finally identifies that she is the wife, and not the seller, and that she will pass all this along to the Seller, and to let her know if he gets back to me in the next few hours.

I told her....I am willing and able to bid this 1955 Nimbus w/Cargo box sidecar up to $ 25k, but I need to talk to the Seller, a guy named Danforth Desena, that is a Podiatrist in the Portland, Maine area, before I up my bids.

He NEVER gets back to me, never answers any of my messages, never replies to any of my texts, after his wife and I have 5 or 6 texts messages back and forth.

Okay, screw this guy, he won't reply to me, then f*ck him, and I hope he gets less than his reserve price.

The auction ends with a high bid of $ 12k...and that is not enough to satisfy his reserve price.

The next day, he and the highest bidder settle on a sales price of $ 14k.

The fool just lost out on at least $ 10k more, if only he had replied to any of my messages.

Podiatrists are stupid people, as they spend all day looking at their own feet. Scared

The day before this auction ended, for this 1955 Nimbus with Cargo Box sidecar, ANOTHER Nimbus comes up for auction.

It's listed as a 1950, but....the frame is from a 1936, the engine is from a 1953, and somehow they have it listed as a 1950.....yet the actual TITLE for this 1950 Nimbus shows it as a 1936 bike.

I have my finger on this one, but someone has outbid me, so I am playing the lay and wait game.

There is also a 1976 Honda Goldwing LTD on BaT right now, NO Reserve...and I am watching that one too.

Both the Sellers of the 1950 Nimbus (really a 1936) and the 1976 Goldwing LTD have already replied to my messages to them, and I have live stream e-mails from both.

That's all I have to say about that. Shut Mouth

A bit of a pity as it looked a great rig.

And I was so looking forward to you fly ride adventure.

As well as the suspense of waiting on the search party after you broke down in nowheresville....

Still thar be others.

Or as the cow said...

Udders.

Udders, er...I mean Bruce, I am no longer interested in that 1976 Honda GL-1000 LTD.

Having just viewed all of his YouTube videos of what he did, and more importantly did not do, to the engine on this bike....

I now have ZERO interest in bidding on this bike.

There are good mechanics, there are bad mechanics, and then there are backyard mechanics that like to make YouTube videos.

This guy is not a good mechanic...in my opinion. Scared

Oh well, there will be udders, as Bruce says.

Ok so because the space is potentially there for the taking or in this case digging.

It won't be a quick project as it's getting done on a pension budget.

Not crying poor at all.

Because It's written that he will supply.

The basement area is very unusual for a house in this part of the country or even Australia wide.

The house is on 500 sqm.

So not a lot.

But location.

The basement is about 66 sqm which is as big as my 1st house, a 2 bedroom duplex as they are called here.

Of the area only a small portion had 2m head height,  the rest was only 1.6m or so.

The 1st pic shows a portion where it is 2.5m head height the same as the garage area on the other side of the wall.

So half the housewas at that level and my aim is to make it all the same.

Simple? Er sort of.

The cream pavers are going to replace the out of production square pavers and the cruder slabs.

Got the new pavers free a saving of $63,50.

Per square meter!!!

But took 4 days to collect second hand.

8 tonnes lifted from another house yard second hand and free.

Currently cleaning and stacking to keep the squeaking down from her upstairs .

Also moving stuff ( one man's treasure) while trying to work what should be sold, given away or binned.

Cambodia in a month for a month.

So that means other stuff needs doing also.

I carried a couple hundred street bricks from a neighbor’s house across the alley and stacked them.  A couple of months later, the state ripped up most of our downtown streets and dumped them unceremoniously in the city’s tree dump.  I went up right away and got another 800 for a nickel apiece and had to sort through the piles for intact ones.  Two months later the city decided to charge $.25 each and no sorting.

Glad I got there when I did.  It was a very nice patio on the rental.  Landlord let me take off rent for doing it.

I got a bit of sticker shock when I priced the clay pavers.

$63.50 a sqm and 28 pieces per sqm so $2.25 each.

25 yrs ago it was $7.50 a sqm on special.

A funny story about that but another time.

Their cheaper concrete pavers are $45 a sqm.

Less than 10 yrs ago here I paid $16 a sqm on special down from $19.

About 3 or 4 yrs ago I bought some seconds for $23 a sqm.

Adds up.

So free was excellent.

Body doesn't agree though.

Still I can see the big workshop space in my head.

Oh, Bruce, if you can SEE the big workshop space IN your head...I would strongly suggest that you go visit a specialist, because:

#1: you should not be able to SEE inside your own head.

#2: if there is a big workshop space IN your head, that means something is missing IN there, as it should be full, with no empty spaces.

I fear that something is wrong down under.

Shocked

Hmm!

Phrase something a little different maybe an inch out and somebody runs Miles with it....

Always reckoned it better to go with the picture in my head and not the voices.......

But the still small voice is OK.

I shall try again for the electrafried and qualified.

The vision I carry in my head of a greatly enlarged workshop/basement will be worth the hard work and expense involved.

Time for our walk on the beach

Still thinking of Thane.
