Welcome Billy, what are you going to hang it on and what part of the country are you from?

In addition to the pertinent questions asked by @Spat, it might be helpful to know  what generation of  H-D sidecar you are looking for.

Over the past 122 years of H-D's existence,  there have been many different versions of the  factory  sidecar.

Therefore,  can you give us a time frame of  years you are considering?

Good thing, east coast seems to have a lot of SCs. 60-70s so the first gen of the twinkie tub, a three point mount the rear for your soft tail will be a challenge. There is enough talent out there for the fabrication of subframe or mounts necessary and you may be that sort of guy, good luck.

I've sought after that same generation of tub for my 69 ElectraGlide for some time, but no longer I don't care to put that stress on the old bike but never say never, it's up on the lift for a restore now.

@spat

Did someone say '69 Glide?

Mine's on the lift for winter maintenance. Here's era the sidecar I think Billy is looking for. Fiberglass tubs like this started in '67.

What year softie you got Billy?

If your soft tail is all stock a depending on the gearing that year you might be in for a surprise.

Wasn't there a guy/company with a warehouse of old police bikes, sidecars & trikes for sale?  Seems like I remember seeing pictures.  Or was that just an urban legend based off some picture?   I can't find any info on it now.

Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃

Lol there's been lots of "guys like that". Many of the old timers stash have been liquidated and scattered at this point. One in Chicago had a bunch of retired police servicar stuff (original Harley "trike"). I bought a few NOS parts from him.

Bill's Custom cycle in Pennsylvania had a pile of tubs like mine, lying out back of his building in the weeds several years ago. They were for sale. May be worth a call to him. The frames come and go on eBay occasionally. Alot of the same sidecar framework was used from the 30's up into the 80's I believe. A few of the -36 parts were used into at least the early 2000's.

As to the gearing, I'm not sure how it was handled after the 1980's. 4 speed bikes like mine were equipped with a small motor sprocket to add the extra Umph! needed to properly motivate the hack. My FLH was rated at 66 HP, 65 lb-ft torque.  Your 91 Evo had more torque to offer down low than that.
