I need a shot of confidence.

Caretaker of Sidecar Willie, without seeing the Austone taxi tire for myself, I can't tell for certain whether I would inflate it to 35 or 40. A lot depends on tire cons, number of plies, sidewall stiffness, etc.
The car tires that I use on the rear wheel of all my rigs, I inflate to 35 or 37 pwarmssi, and on the two rigs I have that have TPMS, once the rear tire warms up, the tire pressure increases just enough to turn off the low air pressure warning light, so I know all is well.Â
On the RED sidecar body....don't paint it.....have it wrapped in color matching vinyl, which they can exactly match the color of the bike, and it costs much less than painting the sidecar.Â

I would love to have it wrapped. Any idea of the cost? Seems like I googled it before and couldn't come up with anyplace mentioning they do it. Any idea's?

Calvin, before we discuss all the parameters of wrapping your Sidecar.....more importantly, are you anywhere near Nashville, Illinois ?
Or, in the path of the rushing waters from the overflowing and bursting dam northeast of You ???
Â
The cost of wrapping your Sidecar will be extremely variable, as it depends on the shops you contact, how busy they are, what they charge for an hourly rate, etcÂ
What the price would be in Florida is different than what the price would be in New York, and different than what the price would be in Southern Illinois.
If I were to make a WAG, I would guess $ 895.00 for where you live.
Look up sign companies, shops that do advertising on trucks, vans, etc. there has to be a ship closer to you than St. Louis, that can do that.
And wrapping your Sidecar actually protects it better than painting it.

I encountered a "rat rod" at the rally on Saturday. The powerplant was a KZ1000 of late 70s vintage, the front end was a Honda Shadow 900 (one rotor). Frame was of indeterminate origin in white while the tank was from a late 70s Fat Boy HD painted in Kelly green. The car was a 70s vintage Spirit of America in white, mounted using three of it's four mounts (upper front is disengaged). The upper rear mount was bolted with two U bolts to the frame. It had a 3 gallon fuel cell on the back seat painted like an oversized Mountain Dew bottle.Â
Toby and I had a good conversation about it. He's currently going through sidecar tires in around 400 miles and he's having the time of his life with the rig. I suggested looking into the toe setting on the car and to see if he can reduce the toe without severely impacting overall handling. The car is light enough that I think he can make some improvements easily. Sorry, didn't get any pics.
My point - get what you can set up, then deal with color. Heck, go to "Party America" and get some patriotic stickers if you feel like it!Â

I'm about 1 hour from Nashville, IL. What's there? I google it again and found some places to call. But I can't spend $900 on it. I'll spray bomb it first,,,lol.
Â

Okay, before you "spray bomb it"....here is an idea.
Buy a gallon of the color of paint you want the Sidecar to be.....bring the full gallon of paint with you to the Flint Hills Rally....along with 50 balloons.
At the Rally, fill each of the balloons halfway with paint. Then sell paint bomb balloons for $ 10.00 each, and the buyer of the balloon gets to throw it at the Sidecar.
You collect $ 500.00, and get a green paint bombed Sidecar.
I will buy the first 5 balloons.

Arrg!!  I hate going backwards. I've mounted about 6 tires on Goldwings, 4 on 1500's. Never an issue with my mojo lever. I fought getting this one on for a long time. Finally had to call a friend to come over and help. Never had to have help before. I think it was because it was a wider rear tire going on a narrower front rim? Just guessing. Then I noticed I missed the balance dot by a few inches. That really bugs me,,,lol. Both of us twisting that tire could not budge it. And it was well lubed. It was like the beads were semi-seated.
Â
Then I went to air it up. But the beads would not seat. I even used a ratchet strap around the tire. I was using 100psi. Got tired of fighting it and took it to a local shop. All I needed was the beads to pop. He was back there a LONG time. Said it gave him trouble too.
Â
So. I brought it home to put in my balance beads. They would not go in. NONE. WTF!!  Turns out there is what looks like a check valve way down in the valve stem. The core will screw in and hold air. But no beads will go in. I tried using a pick to pick at it. Then tried driving it on in. It's trash now. I'm guessing what ever this is was restricting the air volume and that's why I couldn't get the beads to pop.
Â
Now I have to order a 90* valve stem. I used the Kurvey girl brand on my last 1500. I wonder if I could use a straight one from an auto parts store? Any suggestions?

What's in Nashville? A place that does wrapping? Or is it to do with something else?

For Pete's sake, don't you listen to the local news ????
Nashville, Illinois has been ordered evacuated because of serious flooding, due to a dam northeast of Nashville that is overflowing and damaged the dam.
Now, on this insane front tire issue.......exactly what brand, model, and SIZE are you installing onto that front wheel ?
It SHOULD be a Bridgestone BT-46 motorcycle rear tire, in a 130/70-18 size, and because it's a rear tire, it has stiff sidewalls, which makes it difficult to mount by hand. It should be mounted using a tire machine.Â

Oh that event in Nashville. I didn't hear about it until later. I was working on that dam tire. I actually got flooded in my basement. I have my harbor freight tire machine bolted to the floor. All of the sudden my feet started making squishing sounds. I was suddenly standing in water,,,lol.
Â
And yes Miles. The tire is a Bridgestone BT-46 rear. But it's a 140/70/18. That's the size Paul had on there, and you approved that size in another thread, or email maybe. Remember? I was asking about putting a car tire on the front.
