I will first remove Trike Kit. Then strip bike down to bear frame. Go over every part and do the math. It will need a new main frame for sure .
Title will not be branded. Buying it back title was never surrendered . Also because of Trike value it stayed above WI law requiring it to be branded.
It will need all new front end . Cost add up fast. The swing arm , and rear frame section off 2024 will go right on the 2020. Free labor over the winter it may ride again or may not.
Getting sidecar done is easy.

Hope you go with the same blue/black color scheme. Absolutely gorgeous! 🤩

Picked up the new bike this morning. I felt comfortable enough to ride it home. Felt good to ride it.
Had a little time worked on wrecked one. Got front Tree and tubes off. It was not easy. Had help from a friend. Everything was total trash.
Except the Hannigan Tree of course I would never reuse it but it held up.

Riding the new one home yesterday had me a bit concerned . Was not sure I was ready physically. It went ok only about 50 miles home.
It was a cool morning. I figured the heated grips would relax my right hand a bit. Never found out. On a brand new bike they did not work.
I have an appointment to take it in at 1000 today.

@smitty901, this may be apples vs oranges, but check to see if H-D uses the heated seat system to also coordinate with the heated grips system. Meaning, if the heated seat is not working, then the heated grips also will not work. It may be as simple as a fuse issue.
I found this out on my drive back from Hannigan's when I picked up the 2015 Wing w/Hannigan GTL sidecar, the one I will be shipping to Europe early next year. I knew the bike came from Honda with the "comfort package", which is heated grips and heated seats...and I am NOT a heated seat kinds guy...think it is the most stupid thing motorcycle manufacturers have installed on bikes in over 130 years of motorcycles. But...I digress.
The first couple days drive from Kentucky to Washington State were warm enough, you wouldn't want anything heated to be turned on. So no chance to "test" whether the seat or grips heated up. But on the last day, it was cold, foggy, etc, and I wanted those heated grips to work. But NO...they said to me, we refuse to get warm.
I found out when I got home, and into my shop, that Mother Honda ties the heated grips into the same system as the heated seat, simply different control knobs to turn each on or off, but if the heated seats doesn't work, then the heated grips will not work.
Hmmm...okay.
Then I removed the seat from the bike to see WHY is the heated seat not working because...yes..I had already checked the fuses, and all were good.
Turns out that some wanker at Hannigan's did NOT plug the heated seat connector back in when they installed the seat back onto the bike, after doing their wiring of the sidecar to the bike, so the heated seat connector was just laying there, like on vacation, drinking a small glass of Pina Colada, with a tiny umbrella in the glass. I plugged that connector in to the main harness, turned the key on, switched on the heated seat, and....walaaaa...the heated seat worked, and now the heated grips worked.
Thanks' a lot, ya wanker from Hannigan's, that was too lazy to plug that heated seat connector back in.
I checked with Electrical Connection in Tennessee, and they sell a shunt that plugs into the bike's main harness where the heated seat should plug in at, and allows the bike to think the heated seat IS plugged in, and allows the heated grips to still work properly. I ordered that, installed it, and then removed any and all electrical wiring connected to the seat, so that it can not be plugged in again as a heated seat, but the heated grips now work perfectly.
I "like" Hannigan's...but there is a wide divide between a competent journeyman employee, and an incompetent apprentice employee. Someone should have quality control checked every motorcycle that they work on, and a Honda Goldwing 1800 should never leave their shop without all OEM systems fully functioning.
Now, @smitty901, how is your right hand doing ???????

Heated grip issue ,HD did not fully connect the power plug in wiring harness. Good to go now.
Sent email to Hannigan today . Need to set up a date to ride down before snow flies. Figure out details of painting the bike to match or painting the trike part to match. Then best time to have them install the trike kit on the new bike.
Right leg still a little weak but ok. Thumb is ok to work throttle and controls. 200 miles on the bike now.

Aha....that must be the H-D employee that used to work at Hannigan's, and they have an issue with plugging in heated grip connectors.
Take care of your body....injuries from an accident like that have a way of slowly showing up at different times.

Seems to be common now days..I was not going to take a new bike apart to check the plug. Up to them to fix it.

Had some time yesterday to work on new tug for the the sidecar. Being a used bike of course it had some issues. Mostly the paint was in need of help.
Wanted to find out if it would clean up enough to avoid a paint job right away. The outer faring was in need of the most work. Ordered a replacemnet the rest just went to work on it.

In the picture a few posts up, the bike looks silver, or gray. Didn't realize it was triple black. Pretty sexy! But I'm glad you are going with the blue/black. At the risk of becoming a broken record, my gosh that is a beautiful color & graphic scheme. 🤩

Oh, Scott....please pay attention. He bought TWO bikes...a lightly used all BLACK one, and a brand new Grey one.
One will be for remaking the trike, and the other will be for adding his current sidecar to.
If one of them was bright Yellow, you would have paid more attention...eh?

If you are confused ,welcome to the party I am also. But in the end it all makes sense and works out.

@smitty901 and @scott-h, you two don't have to worry about keeping it straight.....I have created an Excel spreadsheet on all of Smitty's bikes, trikes, and sidecars, so I always know what time it is.
