In my constant search for a trade I may have found a 2005 Vulcan VN2000. I like the idea of the 2 liters engine, I like less the HD wannabe look but I am looking at the feasibility of attaching my California FS3; triple trees seem to be available, in the US & in Germany, I am waiting for some answers from Champion & Hannigan (should I ask Texas sidecar?) for mountings but  (and I already read everything about the 141ft/lb torque!!) I'd like to have some 1st impressions from people who did drive a rig with this big mama of a tug. Good freeway speed? not to heavy in mountains? brake OK (btw: linked?)? ok suspensions?

Thanks for your input!

That's a beast of a bike.  Nice looking with good pulling power.

Too bad you already have that California sidecar because @croleyg is doing a fire sale on his Thunderbird/Hannigan rig, built by Hannigan and not too different from what you're proposing to build.

Thanks for thinking of me, Drew.  Just trying to move this rig along to someone that will enjoy it.  Next to go will be a lot of old bits for various bikes that are currently costing me more in storage unit charges than they will ever be worth!

Have installed a few dmc sidecars to those bikes. They handle very well and have plenty of power.

So cool.  Thanks for posting those.

I loved mine. I bought it to encourage me to keep doing my physical therapy and getting my back sorted out.

The more work I did, the better I felt, the more I could ride.

I sold it to start a martial arts school.

I don't regret it but I do miss it from time to time.

@andrew-baker The 3 pots is great (like most of 3 cylinders!!) my main problem was the 2 guys, one after the other, from who I got the bike: they left the gas tank rust inside creating a lot of particles plugging the carbs which as you surely know are a pain to access (who had this idea of a one piece air filter non replaceable but as a complete unit?)... plugging the carbs (Keihin on mine) was not enough, rust and debris destroyed the needle seats (part of the body and not interchangeable) and I had to buy a complete set of Mikuni RS, new from NZ $$$$.

It is a fun and light rig but for the stock front real heavy even with a larger handlebars!! It use gas as if it was free but it is almost as fun as my Vmax!!

I have 2 Kawasaki VN 2000 rigs.  A 2005 with a champion sidecar and a 2006 with a Watsonian Gran Prix 700 (double side).  Both are excellent road rigs and pull the weight with no troubles.  Both have steering mods by the original DMC so the new DMC of Texas may have the needed triple trees.
