Has anyone done business with Champion SidecarCo (championsidecarco.com)? They have several used sidecars listed on their website that interest me. I was curious as to how they are to deal with.

They no longer build sidecars but their reputation as a builder and their cars in general was top notch.  I’m going to tag @miles-ladue for specific experience with them in the process.

I think he is speaking about a different entity. I have looked at the same site, seems a bit sketchy. No physical address, many used tubs that have been listed for over a year, and they refer to themselves as champion and also motorvation randomly on their site. I never investigated any further though.

Donald, here are the facts, rather than speculation...

www.championsidecars.com

They are still in business, however now they only make 3 of the sidecars, where they used to make 6.

I was 100 percent happy with them, when in 2020 they made a new Daytona 2+2 Sidecar for my 2006 Honda Goldwing, which is now owned by the Sidecar Association President....some Shrek looking character, named Thane.

Champion Sidecars did as close to perfection as can be expected, and I didn't need to correct anything from their installation.

Yes, they still make sidecars, and they make REVERSE gear transmissions for your Ultra Classic.

No Stroopwaffles were consumed during this posting

But he is asking about www.championsidecarco,com, not a manufacturer, used sidecars only on their site.

They list several Harley factory tubs for sale at nice prices, including one with electric reverse that the factory did offer, but I can't tell if the one they show is oem. Just too many red flags for me.

Okay, I went to that Championsidecarsco.com website, only because Chris @not-bob threatened to take away my monthly supply of Stroopwaffles.....and whilst it might be worth checking them out, a thorough investigation.

I can say with absolute certainty, some of their intro pictures are stolen from other websites, or from the hacks threads on ADVRider, because I see Mike Paull's bike in there.

My "guess" is that the former owners of Motorvation Sidecars has opened an online used Sidecar website.

Well, I am puzzled.  I was under the impression that Champion only made trikes at present.  Good to know.

Okay, I have sent an e-mail to this Championsidecarco.com company, and the hope is to find out if they are real, or fake.

Here is what I sent to them this morning:

***********************************

Champion Sidecar Co, this is Miles, aka Flying Monkeys on most of the sidecar forums, and I have been tasked with trying to find out if you guys are real, fake, a scam, or...what ?

A lot of discussion right now on the sidecar forums, asking about your company, and whether or not it is real.

We ask that, because there are many anomalies in your pictures, some showing sidecar rigs that WE know to be currently owned by well known sidecar pilots, and some showing 2 or 3 pictures of the exact same sidecar, but with 2 or 3 difference prices for them.

I am asking, politely, can you confirm who you are ?

Many of us have personally dealt with Champion Sidecar in So. Cal, now only making 3 different sidecar, as well as Reverse kits for trannies.

Many of us have dealt with the former Motorvation sidecars, as well as ALL the other sidecar manufacturers in North America.

I know you are not saying you are a manufacturer, you are advertising as a USED sidecar vendor, both individual sidecars, and also completed combination rigs.

Help us, to help you.

Let's get this straightened out, so we can promote you business, rather than close your business.

Thanks,

Miles

************************************

For me personally, what I see is that this company (real or fake) has taken a lot of liberties with using pictures of sidecar rigs, and of people, that I am 99% certain they had no rights to, and the claim that they have been around since 1999 ....I call BS on that.  In todays World, you don't stay hidden for 27 years, and suddenly it pops up, and we are all wondering if it is real or fake.

"IF" they are real, then they offer some decent choices of individual sidecars, that can be added to your already owned bike. They also offer some completed combination rigs that are already done, albeit YOU would want to go over them with a fine toothed comb, and make it right.

I see things in their website that are NOT right, so it makes me suspicious of them.

So, let's see if they answer my e-mail, and what they have to say.
