I don't know if this is a new feature or I just missed it before. But when I'm writing a pm and hit enter it sends what I typed. Like I'm in a live chat.Β

But I'm trying to write a longer message. I'm just trying to start a new paragraph not send what I wrote. Is there a setting or something? Has it always been this way?

Thanks

Cal, that's just the way it is. Been a point of irritation for many of us, but....since we LOVE this USCA sidecars forums, we just live with what we have.

Yes, if you hit the "enter" button on your keyboard, in an effort to move to the next line, as in starting a new paragraph, it will post that part of your PM, and you just have to add more info in the next line.

Yep, my phone does the same thing if I'm texting. I think it's just a built in feature that enter acts as sendΒ

What if the "tab" button is used rather than "enter"?Β  Would it give enough indent to work?

Hold my keyboard and watch this! πŸ™ƒ

Well let's see if this works? No. It just highlighted the send arrow,,,lol. If I hit it more than one it just keeps moving to different area's. all but the next line,,,lol.

The messages app is kind of like an instant message feature like on a phone or Yahoo IM in the old days. It is intended to be quick and short, thus no 'enter' to start a new line - it just sends. That's the way instant messaging works. The general convention for short messaging is, if you want to continue a thought, to add 3 dots or periods (ellipsis) to indicate 'this is continued...'Β

Good info. I thought I was going to have to start saying "Stop" And "Over".
