2013 BMW R1200 GS Triple Black with DMC sidecar Located in Albuquerque NM $17,499
Embarrassed to say mileage is only 11,850 miles. Unfortunately life events had a way of getting in the way of more great motorcycle rides.
Modifications/Features:
-
Front-end rake and trail modified to improve handling and comfort
-
Rear wheel and tires converted to 165/80 R15 car tire for smoother ride and much longer tire life. Sidecar wheel and tires are the same. (Can easily switch back to the original spoke wheel and tire if desired – both are available and can be included in purchase price. On the used market I have seen the wheel offered for around $1,000 – crazy BMW pricing!)
-
Electric trim (electric camber control) allows camber adjustments on the fly.
-
Sidecar has a separate shock absorber, which improves both rig handling and comfort for the passenger. Wife is known to nap on warm longer rides.
-
Dual electric outlets on both the bike and in the sidecar.
-
Dual brake systems. Can brake bike/sidecar simultaneously or independently
-
Hyperlight brake lights
-
Sidecar “paint” is LineX; so no scatches or marring of paint on camping trips or back road adventures.
-
Gas cans x 2
-
Cargo capacity:
-
Locking boot storage is generous.
-
The windscreen folds down and the passenger compartment can be covered to provide security - e.g. riding gear when at lunch stops. Custom tonneau cover is included.
-
Front and rear sidecar racks
-
Tourtech panniers included.
-
Tourtech rack replaces passenger seat. Albeit Tourtech sells a case which mounts to the rack I have found it most useful for strapping on irreular shaped and sized items.
-
-
Multiple other items including covers and spare parts, maintenance & repair manual, heated jacket liners. All tires have less than 200 miles use.
This complete rig handles very well on the highway at speed (ridden at up to 85mph); as well as back roads. The electric trim can be used to adjust to weight; as well as road camber and conditions while driving. Have also found it useful to adjust to strong crosswinds.
So basically a great, fully equipped rig with very low mileage and everything one needs for a good adventure whether camping or just exploring.

Bruce @bs, to entice you to make a 3rd post, at which time you then qualify to start posting PICTURES, the first question I have regarding your 2013 BMW R1200 triple Black is.....which MODEL of R1200 is it ?
One could assume, or even presume, that it is an R1200GS, or maybe a R1200GSA, but it could also be an R1200R, or an R1200RT or...an R1200C
See my point ?
In your next few posts, you can post PICTURES, which would tell us 1000 words, as to which model it is.
EDIT: aha....I found what model your 2013 BMW R1200 bike is;
You posted in the Introductions thread...
"Greetings and thanks for the opportunity to use and participate in the forums. My wife and I are long time riders including two up as well as hacks. Two up rides were largely Iron Butt rides. However, whilst being "vertically impaired" our 2013 BMW 1200 GS with a DMC sidecar allows us to camp and explore places not safely accessible riding two up. Can one ever have too many bikes?"
Now we know...it is a 2013 BMW R1200GS Triple Black w/DMC sidecar.
Therefore, I now need to ask...exactly which MODEL of DMC sidecar is attached to your 2013 BMW R1200GS Triple Black ???
Additional questions that will be asked by Bruce @brstr, and Scott @scott-h, and all other interested parties...
What YEAR was the DMC sidecar added to the Bike ?
How many MILES have been put on the sidecar rig, as a whole, since the sidecar was attached to the bike...out of the 11,850 that the bike has on it now ?
Who did the installation of the DMC sidecar to the bike ?
How many Stroopwaffles are included with this sidecar rig, as an enticement for a buyer ?

Thanks for the post. My error in not headlining that bike is a R1200GS model. I'll see if it is possible to edit. As I recall at hat time the model was referred to as the M2
The side car was built and mounted by the original DMC in Issaquah WA in 2013. At that tine the bike had almost 1K miles on it so the sidecar would have approx 10,800 miles since installation
This is New Mexico. We use biscochitos, not stroopwaffles, as enticements.
Thanks for the posts and questions
Woot woot! You’ve reached the magic threshold at which you can now add images to your posts! Let the photos begin!
Illegitemi non carborundum est!
Bruce @bs, I believe we have got your sidecar rig SOLD for you, so...just hold onto your BVD's, and the prospective buyer will be along shortly, to finalize the deal with you.
Don't expect a full priced offer, because....you neglected to include a box of Stroopwaffles with this sidecar rig.
Oh...you're welcome

@davefran Regretfully it is a GS rather than a GSA. At the time I purchased the bike I was considering a GSA but found it too tall for my (pre-sidecar) legs. I also felt, as part of a complete rig, a GSA's only advantage over a GS was a bigger fuel tank and so not really worth the extra cost as the gas cans on the side car are 1.7 liters each. RotoPax also makes a 1.75 gallon can (which I can include) which fits very nicely in the trunk of the side car if the planned ride is long and remote enough to warrant that amount of fuel. In total that gives you up to 4 gallons of fuel in addition to the tank. An additional "advantage" is having extra fuel storage that is portable - e.g helping riding partners if they run low. Not mentioning any names but I have one that needs to be reminded to watch his gauge. Cute dog by the way!

Bruce, you have a beautifully set up rig that is very reasonably priced.
