USCA 35th National Rally in Mountain View, Arkansas - June 20-23, 2013
So we don't leave out any particular names, I want to say that Brenda and I had a fine time thanks to the efforts of all involved. It was fabulous meeting everyone. We certainly look forward to making the rally next summer. Jim and Brenda Uren
The SS Heavy has reached its home port in Brazoria Tx.
We left home on Father's day, made our way to Arkansas for the rally, then to Kansas to enjoy highs of 105, Colorado for the 4th and camping later on around Durango (the ground has lost some elevation since the last time I camped out), New Mexico was next with visits to the historical squares in Santa Fe and Albuquerque and parts of old Rt 66 and finished up in the Texas Hill country to run thru the twisted sisters (w/trailer) and then home.
Traveled 4500+ miles. After the rally saw only one sidecar rig in Kansas. No mech problems at all.....
The rally was the highlight of the trip -- Thanks to all who put it on and all who attended - When and where is the next national rally?????

What was the final head count Lee? Or did you already post it and I missed it?

DR, the head count it was about 185. We had 65 rigs in the Saturday morning show, plus maybe another 1/2 dozen rigs out & about.

Thanks.

I received this Thank You Note:
I just wanted once again say THANK YOU GUYS for your generous donation to our charity. You really don't know how much it was appreciated. Rest assured that every dime went to the Arkansas Children's Hospital. Due to your help we have been able to raise enough money to meet our goal and buy a zero weight treadmill for the Kids. It was one of their greatest needs.

Great news, Lee. Thanks for passing that along.
By the way, just to tempt you to come west in October, I thought I would let you know that our Ride for Kids event in the DFW area includes a planned lap on the Texas Motor Speedway and the host hotel is a great hotel right across from the speedway - Just sayin...... 🙂
I'll post a link and info later so I don't hijack this thread too badly.
Biscuit and I also want to say what great news that is, Lee. Helping kids in any way possible always puts a smile on our face. Gary, we'd like to head to Texas but the BBBq rally in Fayetteville will
probably take up our spare days. We hope to see a few of you at that rally. Jim and Brenda in Memphis

... Helping kids in any way possible always puts a smile on our face....
In a small way, we sidecarists have contributed to the saving the life of Kali Hardig:
Kali Hardig, 12, contracted amebic meningoencephalitis [a rare but nearly always fatal disease] at a Little Rock, Ark., waterpark in July. She is only the third known survivor of the deadly infection in the last 50 years.... Doctors say Kali's success is due in large part to experimental treatment and early detection and diagnosis. Kali's mother took her to Arkansas Children's Hospital with a nasty fever on July 19. Doctors cooled the girl's body down to try to reduce the swelling, and they won clearance to treat her with a breast cancer drug....
