My understanding is the deadline for registration is May 20th. His sutures won't come out till the first week in June and till that happens I can't get a good feeling for what the surgeon might recommend. He refuses to stay behind the windshield, riding along with his face getting the full force of the wind right next to my knee. And of course that means major ear flapping as he refuses to wear EarPros.
If the deadline could be pushed back due to his medical issue we might have a chance of making it.
With respect to Tom Gerken, our Rallymaster, I am going to step out on a limb and say.....whilst the online registration deadline may be May 20th, rallies like these generally accept walk in registrations on site, and they account for a number of potential walk in registrations when compiling the numbers for meals, extra shirts, etc.
My personal philosophy is.....I sign up and register for rallies like this, whether I am able to attend the rally, or just to support their cause.
You have several choices:
Stay home, and take care of your wonderful furry friend.
Register for the rally NOW, in hopes that you can attend.
Come to the rally, and register On Site as a Walk In
Or.....show up at the rally and I give you the rally registration packet that I have already paid for, for my Boss Monkey, as she is now unable to attend.
As a sidecar family....we all hope the best for your furry friend.

Hmmm, if it’s allowed I could drive in the car if Glenlivet isn’t cleared for sidecar travel by then

Was the ear issue caused because he refused to wear the headgear? And please give him all the cuddles from the rest of us pup lovers.

I’m not sure what caused it. It happened at the end of a long winter when snow and ice had kept the rig in the garage for months. Usually aural hematomas are caused by yeast infections in the ear that make the dog scratch or shake vigorously, but Glenlivet’s ear canals are fine and are cleaned twice a week. Another cause is food allergies, but he’s on the same diet since puppyhood.
Going forward the concern is wind in the sidecar. Once that aural cartilage is broken it’s easier to reinjure. He really doesn’t like wearing his EarPros on trips, but I may have to train that out of him. Little Enkidu is in training to take over sidecar duties when Glenlivet retires, but is only ten weeks old so has some time before that day comes

Little Enkidu is a name that is very different than you last 8 or 9 furry friends. I have followed the history of most of your furry friends, and you definitely like your Scottish beverages.
And now you choose a Sumerian name.
Enkidu (Sumerian) was a legendary figure in ancient Mesopotamian mythology, wartime comrade and friend of Gilgamesh, King of Uruk. Their exploits were composed in Sumerian poems and in the Akkadian Epic of Gilgamesh, written during the 2nd millennium BC.

We had pretty much run out of pronounceable single malt names after thirty years with goldens. And since the pup is a field golden, and the legendary figure is described as a wild and hairy fellow, it seemed like an appropriate name for him.
BTW the single malt naming convention comes from the Scottish origin of the breed, not my drinking habits. Due to a blow to the brain housing group in the service I lost almost all my sense of smell, so the characteristics of even the finest Scotches are lost to me. It made me a cheap date.

I had a DUH moment! I was so stuck on whether or not Glenlivet would be cleared to ride by then that I completely spaced on the option of trailering the rig. So count us in. Hopefully on three wheels but four as a backup. Either way we’ll be there.

@glenfiddich we will take walk in registrations on-site, the only real deadline was related to advance order of t-shirts

Whether planning your trip to the rally or looking for rides in the area the New England Riders is an outstanding resource for well vetted and organized rides. Here's a link to their website posted with permission of NER: New England Riders – northeast's motorcycling community
@rick-johnson we will be a day behind you, leaving Hershey PA on Thursday, stopping in Hartford. Found a place for breakfast on Friday just up 95 called Miss Worchester. Don't slow down or we just might pass ya!
In response to the recent interest in selling stuff at the rally, we will be setting aside an area in one of the two barns on the fairgrounds that we have access to, to provide a weather protected space for your gear. Tags and pens will be provided to identify your gear and provide contact info. More details to follow.
Thanks.

Ken Baker, that's very nice of you guys to do that.

Looking at today's sign up sheet, this is going to be a well attended rally. The ordering of shirts has been cut off to give them time to order and print the correct number of special rally shirts, BUT you can still register for the rally itself.
Tom has done a super job of lining up events, rides, meals, list of places to go see, etc. This will be memorable rally for those who attend.
Who will ride the furthest?
Who will be the youngest to attend?
Who will be the youngest to ride to the rally?
Who will have the lowest membership number?
Who will have the highest membership number?
Who will bring the oldest sidecar rig?
Who will have the highest mileage sidecar rig?
Which monkey will have ridden the furthest?
If you have sidecar related gear or parts to sell, bring them.
If you have an item(s) to donate for door prizes, bring them.
Most of all, it's not too late for you to join the fun June 12-15 in Topsham!

Glenlivet got his sutures out Friday. His ear is looking good, but the vet hasn't restored his flight status yet. We'll be there, but not sure if by rig or by car.
