I replaced the stock windshield on my Velorex 562 with one from Gustafsson Plastics Inc. I ordered an 8" model specifally for the Velorex 562 and it came with no mounting holes drilled in it.

I've found the best way to drill the windshields is with a 3/32" bit using a reversable drill in reverse rotation. Sometimes a bit will catch and crack the plastic used in normal rotation.
For a 6" to 8" shield 1/8" Lexan works just fine and is much cheaper. We've used it for years. I cut it with a jigsaw with wood blade and cover the top edge with chrome door edge molding.

They had drill bits for sale along with their windshields, so I ordered one. Got the holes drilled with no problem and the unit looks good. I'LL take some pics and post them.

No, I'm going to keep it for a spare, and I would need to put it on to use the convertible top. 🙁

OK, thx
(I need one for exactly same reason)
Although, I found windshield to be the major drag factor. My mileage dropped significantly and because I used the biggest available windshield on the bike too even my max speed dropped.
Since I got rid of bike's windshield altogether, reduced sidecar's windshield and changed sprockets(less teeth front, more rear)
Some improvements achieved.
🙂
